We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesse Broniste and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jesse, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am originally from Southern California. Spent time growing up in Orange County as well as the high desert. It was my time spent in a small desert town that really led to music becoming foundational in my life. I come from a line of musicians and picked up multiple instruments early on. But there wasn’t much to do in that area, so that was the time when I began writing music in my room as well as forming a foundation of faith. Both elements became integral in navigating life’s troubles which contributed to the sound and image of Traumatone as well as who I am personally.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I write, record, and release music under the moniker of Traumatone. I have a live band that takes the music out and around the valley. We play a style of music that is heavy, with melody and energy that carries a dark and sometimes cinematic sound that sets us apart from other bands in the area. Getting to take the music out to venues and get people to see our show and hear the music is always exciting. Currently, we are working new music into our shows that will be released soon. I have put the music out myself for many years, but only within the last couple of years been able to successfully put a great live band together to play shows. That has been a longstanding challenge that I am happy to have gotten past. The music touches on varying and sometimes darker aspects of life and the world and we are excited to take it out to people on stage.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take a friend to some of the local music venues to see a glimpse of the local scene at the Nile Theater, Rebel Lounge, The 44, or the Blooze Bar. For adventure, probably out on trails in the Superstition Mountains or down the salt river. Would also include out of town getaways up north to Sedona or Payson. And some of the too many good restaurants to choose from for food.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Larry Broniste – my dad

Jesse Morales – recruiting me into my first band and handing me the responsibility of songwriting. As well as being a friend and mentor in faith.
