We had the good fortune of connecting with Sobe Stanford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sobe, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Sustaining a business can be challenging. In my case balancing life and work has been a struggle. Entrepreneurship is not easy, you have to wear different hats to handle some of the workloads you can’t afford to outsource. You will always encounter struggles, but staying optimistic plays a huge role in overcoming them!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve always been attracted to Art and the creative process of it. The first few years in business, I enjoyed creating portraits of people in general. It wasn’t until I photographed a 50 year old woman that I discovered my genre, I believe that every woman should take the time to celebrate their individuality regardless of age, weight or color. We are uniquely beautiful, and we should embrace it! This mindset motivated me to focus on creating a cozy space for women to relax, forget about life problems, feel incredibly beautiful as they create memories and have a product to remember this experience. As a company, I am most proud of the compliments my clients get when their friends see their final images. I take the time to listen to what my clients want and guide them through the entire photoshoot process, this is what sets me apart from others!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many beautiful places to visit in Arizona. I love nature, outdoor activities and everything that helps me stay grounded. I would spend the weekend at the Enchantment Resort in Sedona, which is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the weekend. We would begin the weekend by taking a mindful walk around the area, as we catch up on life and enjoy the beautiful views that Sedona has to offer. Afterwards we would have lunch at Creekside Sedona to enjoy the beautiful creek view. I would also show her the Boynton Canyon and take an evening yoga class offered at the Enchantment resort. To finish the day we would go to The Hudson, to enjoy a glass of wine and dine.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I can not say it enough, Personal Development is huge when it comes to self-improvement and taking your business to the next level. I got into Personal Development when I started my business. Once you become a business owner you realize that success begins within you, You transform your thoughts, and turn your fears to faith. A book that stands out, is “The Universe Has Your Back” by Gabrielle Bernstein. This book taught me to always trust the process even when things go against you.
