We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Camacho and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
I think the biggest thing would be that people think I only work weekends, people believe that it’s a quick job and it doesn’t take much time. when in reality I really don’t get a day off. I have to answer messages, create mock ups, order items, create content, make new props, and many other things that people don’t see. When we show up to set up we’re usually done within an hour or two because of all the prep we do before. The last time I had a day off was for the holidays.


Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m most excited that I’m able to do what I love. It sounds corny but I never thought that I would be able to do something that I truly love. I wake up at 6 or 7 on a Saturday morning and I’m excited to go to work and see my visions come to life.

It was not easy getting to where I’m at now. I worked my regular 9-5 for 2 years before I could quit and do my party set ups full time.

I’ve only been doing this full time for about a year. I have to thank social media because it’s helped my business and has helped us grow more than I could ever imagine.

The biggest lesson was that I had to learn how to get organized we do 4-6 events on a Saturday so organization is key.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family. I wouldn’t be where I’m at without them. My parents help so much with my kids, my sisters help me with the set ups and my husband this man works his regular job, then comes home and builds whatever crazy project I have for him.
