We had the good fortune of connecting with Jhamiel Robles Phan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jhamiel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When my family and I welcomed my second daughter. Everything was perfect. That is until we found out she had a complicated cyst on her neck. At 8 weeks of age, we travelled for three hours for her operation. Thoughts were racing in head. I was scarred that I might have to leave the hospital without seeing my daughter smile once again. It was painful to even have a realization that the only memories I had of my child were videos of her struggling to breathe. With one last kiss and a tight hug, I left my daughter in the hands of nurses and surgeons. Minutes turned into hours. It was an unbearable wait. Thankfully, our princess had the chance recover without any complications.
Since then, I started volunteering as a cardio-pulmonary resuscitation facilitator for my community. I’ve learned not to take anything for granted. Life is fragile. It can and it will take you by surprise. This is how Beat to Beat Training LLC began, I took my passion for teaching and desire to save lives to spread knowledge within my community about life saving measures.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Beat to Beat Training LLC was created to reach out to families who are interested to learn about life-saving measures. Classes and course materials were provided to new parents, grandparents, aunts and uncle’s and whoever is willing to spend a few minutes of their time to attend our in-person courses at no cost. As the business grew, we began to expand our services to health care providers and clinics within the Phoenix valley, offering both basic and advanced life support courses. At the moment, we are working on reaching a bigger audience. We want to encourage current and aspiring health care students who dream of furthering their educational journey. Our target, future anesthesia providers. The journey to get to where we are has been long but incredibly fulfilling. When you are fueled with passion, delays, and roadblocks along the way become nothing more than just temporary pauses and learning opportunities.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Having two kids myself, I would always recommend having lunch at the Duce. This place is great for family gatherings especially when you just want to relax and let the kids enjoy the huge indoor and outdoor area. Having multiple entertainment set-up is a huge plus. My kids can go for the corn hole, the ping-pong table, act silly on the hula-hoops, while the rest of the family get to enjoy the funky warehouse-like atmosphere while eating their famous knockout sliders! For staycations, Great Wolf Lodge in Scottsdale has never disappointed us. The resort has a huge selection of slides for kids and adults. It truly is an enchanted paradise for our little ones and we appreciate all the tiny details the place has to offer from the little cabins and caves in the kids rooms to the numerous magical quests the whole family can enjoy after a long day in the pool.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Dedicating this shout-out to my children. They have inspired me to become the change I want to see in the world they will grow up in, to make a difference in the lives of others..
