We had the good fortune of connecting with Jimmy Hoselton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jimmy, how does your business help the community?
Two different branches within Grass Clippings. Grass Clippings Clothing and Grass Clippings Development.

When we consider redeveloping a golf course it’s critical we can achieve the following items.

Items the development company is focused on that helps the community and the world would be the following, reduce water usage, reduce turf usage, greater accessibility, greater community participation, and greater awareness of golf as a lifetime sport available to a diverse customer audience. We also are focused on different types of golf programing to help teach underprivileged kids, veterans and other community groups.

Grass Clippings clothing- Between the four of us golfers, not one brand out there truly spoke to us. We set out to design unique, sustainable clothes that could represent the silent heroes, Stay Grassy, and an Earth-First approach to business & life. We use Arizona grown supima cotton. When a garment is released we name it after a local greens keeper and his crew to recognize the hard work they put in to keep the golf course pure!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a golf clothing brand and a golf development company. We set out to design unique, sustainable clothes that represent the silent heroes of golf, “The Greenskeepers”.

We by no means have “made it” the challenges never stop. It definitely takes a certain type of person to face the entrepreneur challenges but the four of us all keep eachother positive. The game of golf means a lot to us and its your goal to help grow it in a positive way for the next generation. One of the big lessons us four have learned is taking each day at a time. Its easy to look ahead and get intimidated by all the work that needs to be done but if you set daily goals and complete them its a much more efficient way to work.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start at our shop in Arcadia, good vibes and always great people coming through. Maybe grab a beer at Jt’s bar and grill and dinner at Los Dos Molinos. All four of us like trying new places and driving far for good food. The real fancy nice steak house is not our vibe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All the greenskeepers around the world for the hard work they put in to keep golf courses looking good and also for supporting our brand.
