We had the good fortune of connecting with Jocelyn & Aaron Freeman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jocelyn & Aaron, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success is when you are experiencing yourself continually grow as an individual, and when you are in a healthy, thriving partnership. Success isn’t as much about the “outer” results but the inner transformation. So often, people sacrifice their romantic relationship for their goals and they think success will then lead them to have a great relationship. That’s not the case. Creating a thriving relationship at home is the foundation of success in all areas of your life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are so humbled to watch Empowered Couples University grow around the world. Over 800,000 couples have been impacted by the teachings, workshops, and coaching. We believe that love brings couples together, but relationship skills are what keep couples together. But none of us had a “Relationships 101” class in school, so we’re expected to just magically figure out how to have a healthy, strong relationship. We started ECU to provide couples an alternative to counseling to learn practical skills to communicate better, fight smarter, and overcome any challenge as a team. What we’ve learned along the way is that we must always be uplelveing ourselves to be able to coach and mentor other couples, and that requires us to be authentic and vulnerable in our own relationship.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When couples come to visit us here in Arizona, we love to take them on the trails through the desert. The best way to connect is while on a walk through the gorgeous nature here. Then stop in Old Town Scottsdale for some lemonade at Chop Shop.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to shoutout to all of our Certified Relationship Coaches that are a part of Empowered Couples University. It is inspiring to watch you all dedicate your lives to supporting couples.
