We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan Limon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jonathan, what do you attribute your success to?
One of the best decisions I made for myself was simply putting myself out there. Building a brand was important for my business, and finding an identity to connect with so others can relate to you. I also believe that opportunities are not given, but created. It’s really hard to be recognized as it is with an industry saturated with competition. I don’t want to be known as just another realtor for XYZ company. I want people to identify me for my reputation and work ethic. My personality speaks volume.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
A real estate consultant servicing the greater Phoenix area as JLimon Realty, my duties include educating my clients about the home buying process, and connecting you to the right people who will make this process a breeze for you! As your consultant, I’ll provide you with the best advice on which way to navigate your path to becoming a homeowner or making your home marketable to sell.

Recently, I joined Remax Territory from Yuma, AZ. I’m excited about the new change and new opportunities. Being able to serve my hometown as well as the Phoenix valley feels honorable to me, because I want to give back to the community I once grew up in and live in currently. Everything is negotiable in this business, and hard work and constant learning drive results. That is something this career path has taught me. As a business owner, you have to negotiate the best situation for yourself to succeed.

Being in the industry over 5 years, it has not been an easy path getting to where I’m at right now. My career started off very rocky, and this industry moves fast. I had to learn to keep up the pace and adjust as the market changes. Working in the various roles since entering the industry have really taught me a lot about what it takes to be a great realtor. No matter how unsuccessful I was in the beginning, I didn’t let it tear me down and continued learning and growing as an individual.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Depending on the time of year one were to visit here, I’d give a few different options for places to visit. When it comes to a weekend of fun in our downtown areas here in Phoenix, There are many places to enjoy a bite to eat. We can literally park, and take a stroll to find some good food. Our nightlife in the city has grown, including several hidden or underground bars. We even have theme based bars which feature specialty drinks. I’m a big fan of Mexican food, and the locations for tacos are phenomenal. You wouldn’t go hungry here! Our art scene we have every beginning of the month also exposes the culture we have in the city. I would add the downtown scene on my checklist of places to visit.
I spend a lot of time outdoors, some of my favorite places to hang out include hiking trails in the Piestewa mountains, Camelback, or even a short drive up north into Sedona, or the forest and cooler weather for some hidden trails to go for a walk. This summer, I plan to spend time making trips to our lakes and rivers for a swim. The hiking trails and bodies of water we have here are just amazing and beautiful to check out when temperatures are hitting over 100.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m giving my shoutout to my family who has been there for me since I can remember. I really felt the support when finishing up school a few years ago. Being able to pursue this career and helping support me by spreading the words in their circle of influences helps make me come up to people’s minds faster. It becomes rather difficult when you don’t surround yourself with the right people. My kids are also deserving of my shout out for the love and encouragement they display all the time. My oldest son gets excited to learn more about housing from occasion when simply joining me for a quick showing or two.
