We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Al-Faleh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want my legacy to be that of someone who never stopped trying to bring light into a messy and sometimes difficult world in an effort to touch peoples lives and remind them why we are here. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve unfortunately began to lose more and more people who held significant places in my life. In an effort to remember and honor them, I’ve tried to adjust my life to do more things that they did that changed mine such as complimenting strangers just because, making more of an effort to have personal & deeper conservations, checking in on those I love more often to see how they are doing, etc. I want people to remember that although life can be hard and we can feel like we’re fighting battle after battle, there are still people in this world who love and care about you and every individual in this world is here for a purpose.

I want people to remember me as the loud, energetic and always loving person that I’ve grown up to be because I do truly believe that good people still have a place in this world and that we can still change peoples lives even if by one small act of kindness. I want to be remembered as the person who always offered an invitation to others to be included, someone who always lights up when someone they care about walks in the room, someone who wants to change lives because there life has been changed so many times by so many amazing people, but also that anyone is capable of doing all of these things themselves and my life hopefully has left that impact on others like they have mine.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is a representation of the way with which I see the world. We live life everyday so structured and so rushed that we never take the time to take a step back, slow down, and enjoy it. Photography allows me the outlet to make everyday and typical things into beautiful things all because I changed the perspective with which we look at it. I have always had a good eye for things the average eye does not always notice such as a hawk sitting in a tree or a snake hiding in the leaves, etc. This individual aspect sets me apart from others because when it comes to photography, everyone has a certain theme or subjects they prefer to shoot such as people or landscapes and my eye for the little things sets me apart from other photographers. What makes me most proud about my art is the efforts I go to capture the images I do such as sitting still for hours just to get two images of a hummingbird, or hiking an entire mountain to get a picture from the top. The most exciting part about my career is the never ending potential to capture even more images and that it is something I can continue to do for the rest of my life no matter where I am or what I’m doing in life at the time. I want the world to know that you can always use your passions to show different aspects of your life. Going through a hard time? Photograph it in a way you can communicate that artistically. Going through the best time of your life? Photograph it. Because no matter what we go through, once we look back on what we accomplished during those times and trials, it will always be a new perspective compared to the one we had while going through it and to do so artistically in a way we can show others will always impact others as well and touch them in ways we may never know.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I truly believe that active and challenging activities are the best way to enjoy the environments that we are in. Some of my favorite outdoor and engaging activities would be hiking Camelback mountain and enjoying the views from the top. Although the drive can be fairly long, its quite beautiful the entire way and the Grand Canyon is also something that I have always enjoyed while exploring Arizona. Likewise, the Desert Botanical Garden is such a magical place to explore. It is full to the brim with both nature and wildlife from Arizona and gives you a moment to truly appreciate the different varieties and species of plants that are native to Arizona and unlike many of the states throughout the U.S. Additionally, checking out the sand dunes throughout Arizona is exceptionally cool because it feels like you aren’t even in the U.S. anymore. Last but not least I will always suggest Sedona Arizona. The shops that line the ‘main street” of that town are filled with so many interesting and cool shops from crystals to teas to musical instruments to jams and jellies.

When it comes to food, some of my favorite places were Black Bear Diner, BlackRock Coffee shop, Dickies BBQ, and Tacos & Mas California Burritos!

Arizona has so much to offer and it is truly incredible every time I find a new place to explore.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to several individuals that I have lost throughout the past few years who have always taught me to be true to myself and to love others and do acts of service out of love from my heart and not for the recognition or the expectation of receiving . Some of the individuals are Mr. Robert Rosin (my Pops), Perry Ray (my grandfather), Larry Swenson (my favorite bartender), Pat Matthews, and Gladys Rodriquez.

Of all those I’ve loved and lost, there are still those here that continue to influence and motivate my purpose such as my mother, my grandmother Violet, my best friends Connor and Bailey, and many, many more.
