We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Jensen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Both Sid Benavidez and I are members at Mesa Country Club and we play golf together regularly. We have seen a trend in golf attire recently and felt that we could bring some fun ideas and attitude to the industry. After a round Sid and I were having some drinks on the patio and one of the older members at the club asked us “if we were ever going to grow up?” when we answered “NEVER!” he told us we had the “worst case of Peter Pan Syndrome he’d ever seen.” It was like a light bulb went off for both of us and we knew our mission was to share our “never grow up” attitude with the masses.

Nick Christie is a long-time friend of ours who owns a branding studio and possesses a very creative mind. He was a natural fit to bring into the fold.
Neverland Country Club was born. We pay homage to the conversation that helped launch the idea by placing a “never grow up” tag or logo on every piece we create.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Each of us has different professional backgrounds that help us contribute to NVRLND in different ways. Sid is a Pharmacist by trade and currently works as a consultant for a large benefits management organization. Nick is an entrepreneur to his core and owns and operates his own branding company. I work in medical device sales as a regional sales director for a large medical device company.

NVRLND is a passion project turned second career for each of us, we try to keep it fun and light but we have seen some early success that has turned it into a bit more than just a side project.
The Phoenix community has been incredibly supportive of us already. We have made custom polo designs for several local charity organizations and businesses. People are tired of buying a lame polo and stitching their logo on it. We can work with your business, school or charity and design a custom polo that is unique to your organization. It tells you customers or employees that you have vision and a desire to stand out from the crowd.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you come to the Phoenix area you must play some golf. There are a lot of really nice public courses in the area where you can see some amazing scenery and play some really challenging holes. Dinosaur Mountain at Gold Canyon and Quintero are two of the most unique public courses around. A night out in Old Town after a day of golf is always on the agenda, plenty of great places to eat and drink there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We have a lot of really incredible partners already for a young business. Accident Law Group, Scottsdale Saguaros, Fore the Kids and of course Mesa Country Club. Working with partners like these keeps this fresh and fun, they put their faith in us to produce high-quality apparel and we love making them look great!
