Meet Jordan Martinez | CMO/Co-Owner of State 48 Garage Doors

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The idea of starting a garage door repair company actually came from my dad, Tony Martinez. After visiting a couple of different business networking events he recognized that there was a need for a reliable garage door company in Phoenix. After talking with my brother, Tyson Martinez, we started putting together a business plan and Tyson got trained as a garage door technician. So all three of us are owners of State 48 Garage Doors and we each bring different strengths and skills to the table, but ultimately we are all hard workers and we love giving back to our neighbors in Phoenix, AZ. Hence why we named our company State 48 Garage Doors after our beloved home state of Arizona, the 48th state of the USA.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At State 48 Garage Doors our mission is to bring quality, safety, and great communication to every garage door repair, service or installation. We don’t take short cuts or cut corners. Our technicians are truly craftsman and have an eye for detail on every job and only use high quality parts and materials. With that in mind we also work with our customers budget to give different options, while never neglecting the quality. Truly this has been our greatest strength and weakness. There are a lot of people that are shopping the industry for the cheapest option and we don’t offer it to them because as professionals we know it isn’t safe and it’s going to cost them more later on. Unfortunately there are a lot of garage door companies that aren’t looking out for the best interest of the customer and will compromise on quality and safety.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We are native to Arizona and grew up here in Phoenix so it is so hard to pick our favorite places here but here is what our places and things we love to do with our family and friends! We would have to start with an early morning hike at South Mountain or Camelback and enjoy the beautiful Arizona morning followed by coffee and some supreme burritos from The Coffee Shop at Agritopia. Our next stop would be some horse back riding in the Superstition Mountains and checking out the Goldfield Ghost Town. One of our favorite places for lunch would be Comedor Guadalajara followed by some scooter riding around Tempe Town Lake! To end a dream day in Phoenix would depend on what amazing events are going on! It could be a concert at Ak-Chin Pavilion, a Diamondbacks or Cardinals game, or for something more low key but still fun and exciting a night out in Downtown Gilbert. Also some day trips up to Flagstaff, Sedona, the Grand Canyon would be a must! It is crazy that we were born here in Arizona and there is still so much to explore in this amazing state. We love it so much here it is why we chose the name State 48 Garage Doors!

Ultimately we attribute our success and give all the glory to our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is through him that we have the strength and patience to persevere as a family business owner. He is also the reason that we love to serve others and put our customers needs above our own.
