We had the good fortune of connecting with Joseph Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joseph, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Leaving my mark each child at a time. This makes me happy because I know that I’m giving kids life lessons that they will use their whole lives. My goal is to be a positive role model and I feel like with each kid that I coach I’m getting closer and closer to that goal.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I put 1000% effort into my craft. My old high school football coach use to say “the grind don’t stop” and that stuck with me so I feel my work ethic is unmatched. Seeing the smiles on my kids faces and also the progress they’ve made is what I love for. Wins and loses will come but them being happy and having fun is most important. I got to this point by working on my craft constantly, I had a plan during the off-season and it paid off. We were in last place now we’re in 3rd place going into playoffs. This process was not easy because I’m only a 2nd year coach my 1st season we only won 2 games. But the plan I put together during the off-season is paying off now. One valuable lesson I learned as a coach is find out what your kids do best and work that to your advantage. I just want everybody to know that I do care about the wins and loses but most importantly I care about my kids happiness more than anything. I’m going to be a positive role model for each kid I come in contact with.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a big seafood guy so I’d definitely take them to Angry Crab or out for wings !! I love wings. Visiting Arizona I’d definitely take them to see a lot of nature.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank God first and foremost for making all of this possible. I want to thanks my mom and my dad may he Rest In Peace. I want to give thanks to my grandfather for all his love and support and to my bestfriend Amanni Branch for all of her love and support also.
