We had the good fortune of connecting with Karin Fellman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karin, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
To always follow my inner guidance.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My newest venture is Blue Buddha Collective. It is a new concept in wellness that combines Yoga, Espresso and Art. My intention was to create a space where yogis, coffee lovers and art fans come together creating a high vibe conscious community. I am most proud of the vision and work of my husband and daughter to create a fun coffee shop that vibes with the yoga and art. And how it all fits together perfectly.

Of course there were challenges along the way, but it’s all how you look at them. It’s important to take them in stride and keep a good attitude, it’s all just part of the process… I always say-stumbling blocks or stepping stones…

What sets us apart?

Every person who walks through the doors of Blue Buddha feels like they belong here because they do. And when they leave our goal is that they feel better than when they came. We take great pride in getting to know our yogis and coffee drinkers and their families- creating an amazing community.

We feel our state of the art yoga room sets us apart. We upgraded our studio with therapeutic Infrared light. Infrared radiant heat panels is a gentle natural form of heating also used in incubators for babies. It’s a totally different hot yoga experience that we are all loving so much!

An Infrared hot yoga class feels clean and invigorating because it heats the yogis and not the air.

Infrared heat feels pleasantly warm without the feelings of exhaustion, stuffiness, nausea, drying out skin and contacts that can happen with forced air systems that blow in hot air to heat the room- to heat the students. At the same time it also blows dust, allergens and germs around the room.

Infrared heat is therapeutic but not oppressive, clean, leaves a gentler footprint and is completely silent.

With cooler temps on the way, we are very excited that our garage door is going in this week. It will really open up our space and allow for fresh air seating.

For sure Divine guidance has taken me to this moment and I am forever grateful for all the experiences over the years and especially grateful for my most recent ones that brought me here.

I have learned some great life lessons, the biggest one being that everything always works out in the end so don’t waste precious energy worrying about the details.

I want everyone to know that Blue Buddha is the culmination of my twenty year yoga journey. The Blue is the third yoga studio I have built and I feel as if I have finally come back home again.

I took the road less traveled and am very happy to find myself in a very “Buddhaful place.”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friend was coming to town I would definitely take a drive up to Sedona and stay at the fabulous Enchantment resort and spend the week relaxing by the pool, treating ourselves great food, spa experiences, Aura and chakra readings, exploring the red rocks, finding the vortex’s, wading through peaceful creeks and touring the art galleries, Total bliss!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to my beautiful family, I am a success because of their love, support and encouragement. My parents radiated a tireless work ethic and deep faith in Jesus and their example inspired me to also work hard and to have a prayerful life filled with gratitude and faith. The love of my life Roy and I will celebrate our fortieth wedding anniversary in June. He is my biggest fan, forever encouraging me to follow my heart. My grown children and grandchildren are bright lights in my life, that inspire to be a better person every day and to shine bright too!

My yoga family has also made a huge impact in my life and their love and support means the world to me.
