We had the good fortune of connecting with Lizzie Ens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lizzie, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?

The single most important decision I have ever made that has led me to my success is investing in myself and my business. I hired a business coach right as I launched my business Undiet Yourself to get myself up off the ground because I knew there were a lot of things I needed to do to run a successful business yet I didn’t know how. My first coach that I hired helped me get a lot of logistics down and lay the groundwork for my business. Four months later I invested in myself and my business in another business coaching program. Although this was another business coaching program, the reason I say I invested in myself is because it transformed me as a person both personally and professionally.  This transformed my business into a growing 6 figure business. The single most important thing that changed for me was being coached by a Life Coach/Therapist and a Mindset Coach on this team. It wasn’t until I started working with them that I realized how much work I needed to do on myself personally in order for my business to grow.  Allowing myself to be transformed from within has allowed me to serve my clients on a much deeper level and transformed my business in a way I would’ve never thought possible before.

Investing in oneself can be extremely scary if you have never done it before but when you take that leap and invest in the right program or coach it can also be the most transformative thing you’ll ever do for yourself and your life.

We aren’t meant to figure everything out on our own in life. I believe we move forward and grow 10x faster when we allow others to help us that know exactly how to do it and can give us the blueprints to do so.

The most important part when hiring a coach is to remember that they are there to guide you and teach you the things you need to put into action. The rest is up to you to make happen. Without action there is no change.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

I am so incredibly proud of my business and what I have created and built. Welcome to UnDiet Yourself. I’m a wife, a mom and I am a former Amish. Like millions of other women, I come from a background of YoYo and quick fix diets. I was bullied for my weight growing up, always being compared to my twin sister. This started me on a series of eating disorders. When I left home, I thought I found balance in marathon running. Finally, I could eat whatever I wanted. I thought being skinny would make me happy… but it didn’t. I was stuck in a cycle of obsession and unhappiness with how I looked and felt.

But I always knew I had this passion to learn more about science and the physiology of the body and our health. I went to school and became a certified personal trainer. I started personal training right out of school and within the first year I realized there is so much more to our health than just moving our bodies. It started with nutrition and what we were feeding our body first. So I went back to school and became a certified Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. This is where I finally learned how to fuel and treat my body properly. When I ate properly, I not only felt happy and full of energy, my body began to transform and so did my relationship with it. I found the perfect balance between training (but not over training!) and nutrition. That’s when I finally found peace with myself and my body.

And this is when I realized I wanted to help other women find the same peace.

And that is where UnDiet yourself was born. UnDiet Yourself is not a … you guessed it: a diet. I am anti-dieting because most diets not only don’t work (up to 90% of people that diet gain the weight back) but more importantly these diets actually wreck havoc on our bodies and cause a lot of harm and long term health issues, like hormone imbalances, gut inflammation, brain fog and poor relationships with food and our bodies.

My mission is to help women UnDiet themselves and find a balance with well rounded nutrition & moderate exercise to find peace with their bodies. You won’t find restrictive calorie counting, excessive workouts or strict rules here. What you will find is education around nutrition to help you re-fuel your body and find the balance you may have lost from YoYo dieting, hormone fluctuations or recovering from being sick.

Welcome to the UnDiet Yourself revolution!

Was it easy to get where I am today? I’m an optimist so I will always see the positive before the negative. Not everything has been easy but nothing successful comes without some work and some pain. You have to be willing to go through tough times because when you fight, it’s within that fight that you become stronger and on the other side of that pain is the beautiful rainbow. I am where I am because I have allowed myself to be coached by others and I have allowed myself to work through my own bullshit that was keeping me trapped in my own mind.

I want the world to know that my brand is here to change lives and help women find their why and true self again by teaching them the importance of taking care of themselves first so they can serve their families and friends at their best.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My all time favorite spot in Arizona is Sedona. I tell every single person that visits this is a must to see. When I need to slow down, get away and refresh this is where I go. There’s endless hiking opportunities. The scenery is majestic and makes for amazing photos. For an evening out with the most amazing and angelic experience, I recommend dining at the Enchantment Resort. A 180 view of the red rocks, sunset and live music is an experience not to be forgotten. You can choose to go the fine dining route if you’re celebrating something special like an anniversary or a birthday. For a similar view but more casual you can dine at the cafe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I want to thank several people here. First the High Impact Coaching team. This is what truly changed my life and my business. Owner Ben Gower, mindset coach, Reginald Mvkiver, Life Coach, Matthew Paetz, SM marketing and creativity Kayla Vashti. I would never be where I am without these people and I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart. I also want to recognize and thank my girl Dayna Schaaf, owner of Wing Woman Marketing. She is truly my wing woman with my social media marketing and I certainly would not have grown my instagram audience from 1500 to 19k in 2 week’s time. She is my rock right here.

My best friend Laurel Roach, owner of Trifit Wellness is my biggest support and cheerleader. We worked together for many years and still do some projects together. (the next one is going to be epic) We laugh, we cry, we support and we challenge each other when we get in our own heads. Thank you to each and every one of these guys!
