We had the good fortune of connecting with Kati Wasserman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kati, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

Starting my own business was driven by a mix of passion, a desire for independence, and spotting an unmet market need. My deep passion for skincare and belief in our services’ effectiveness inspired me to create a safe space physically and mentally for my clients, tailored for those seeking top-notch skincare treatments.

The decision to venture into entrepreneurship was also motivated by my supportive family, who encouraged me to set my vision into place to establish a space for growth and success and fostering a workplace where everyone feels like an integral part of the team, with a positive atmosphere that extends to our clients.

Identifying an unmet market need, I seized the opportunity to offer cutting-edge services not widely accessible, meeting the evolving skin care needs of our community.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Flagstaff Skincare Medical Spa is not just a spa; it’s a haven for skincare enthusiasts seeking personalized, result driven and advanced treatments. What sets us apart is our commitment to innovation and excellence. We pride ourselves on offering cutting-edge services, to advanced medical skincare treatments like Laser Hair Removal, Microneedling, RF Microneedling, and IPL.

I take immense pride in the transformative space I’ve created and the remarkable growth that Flagstaff Skincare has achieved since opening our doors three years ago. Balancing the journey of nurturing this success while also embracing the role of a new mother within the second year of business has been a journey with its challenges. Despite the hurdles, I’ve successfully cultivated and expanded this business into a thriving enterprise while simultaneously embracing the joys and responsibilities of motherhood.

I am deeply proud of the accomplishments I’ve achieved, both personally and professionally. Creating a space where clients can access top-notch skincare tailored to their unique needs has been a cornerstone of my mission. And through it all, I am proud of the example I am able to set for my daughter – showing her that with dedication, hard work, and a belief in oneself, anything is possible.

Overcoming challenges involved staying adaptable as an owner, innovating, and maintaining a commitment to high-quality service, while also juggling the responsibilities of motherhood. Lessons learned include the importance of resilience, and most significantly owning my mistakes and embracing change in a dynamic industry.

What I want the world to know is that Flagstaff Skincare is more than just a business; it embodies my personal journey—a testament to resilience, determination, and unwavering passion. It’s more than just a business; it’s a reflection of my commitment to creating a community and a safe space where skincare enthusiasts are embraced like family. From the moment I embarked on this venture, I envisioned a space where clients could not only receive exceptional skincare services but also feel valued and cherished.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank two pivotal forces in my life: my parents and the incredible community of Flagstaff. Their unwavering support and belief in me have been instrumental in shaping both my personal and professional journey.

I also want to honor my parents; my late father, who witnessed the opening of our first location. His memory continues to inspire me on this journey. Lastly, a heartfelt shoutout to my mother, whose unwavering support empowers me to be the best business owner I can be. Their collective influence has shaped my path, and I’m truly grateful for their contributions to my personal and professional life.
