Meet Kelcee B | Elopement & Intimate Wedding Photographer + Videographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelcee B and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kelcee, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my business, Escape and Adventure, because I believe weddings should be more than a traditional cookie cutter experience. It should be an experience that feels true to you. I wanted to create a space where couples could break free from expectations and design a day that reflects their love, their adventure, and what truly matters to them.
Capturing those raw, unfiltered moments—the ones filled with joy, emotion, and the kind of love that makes time stand still—is what fills my heart and fuels my passion.
I have to thank the first couple who trusted me to capture their elopement in 2020. We planned their day just three days before Halloween, and it turned out to be the most fun and rewarding experience I’d ever had. In that moment, I knew—this was what I was meant to do. That wedding changed everything, and I’ve been dedicated to capturing unforgettable elopements ever since.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Escape and Adventure isn’t just about taking beautiful wedding photos—it’s about creating an experience that truly reflects my couple’s love and connection.
What sets me apart is my commitment to making sure couples feel seen, heard, and supported every step of the way. Whether it’s an intimate elopement in the middle of the forest or a breathtaking ceremony on a mountaintop, I help couples design a wedding day that feels right for them—not one dictated by traditions or expectations. From location scouting to timeline planning, I’m more than just a photographer and videographer—I’m a guide, a storyteller, and a trusted friend capturing my couple’s most cherished memories.
Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. Building a business from the ground up takes passion, perseverance, and a lot of trust in yourself. When I first started, I had no roadmap—just a love for capturing love stories surrounded by the beautiful world we live in. I faced moments of doubt, learning curves, and the struggle of breaking into a competitive industry. But every couple I’ve worked with, every story I’ve had the honor of documenting, has reaffirmed why I do what I do. I pushed forward by focusing on what truly mattered—creating meaningful experiences and images that couples will cherish for a lifetime.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success isn’t about fitting into a mold—it’s about carving your own path. I want the world to know that elopements and intimate weddings aren’t a second choice; they’re a deeply intentional way to celebrate love. Your wedding day should be about you—your story, your adventure, your love. And I’m here to make sure that story is told in a way that feels unforgettable.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh goodness, there’s so many amazing places in Phoenix to explore it’d be so hard to choose where to begin!
I’d say the first place I’d take them is Medieval Times in Scottsdale. It’s such a fun escape from the Arizona heat, with an indoor, AC-controlled castle, a thrilling medieval show, and delicious food. Fun fact, before I started my photography business, I worked there as a spotlight operator and a falconer apprentice. It’s also where I met my husband—he was a knight in the show!
The next few days I’d take my friends to enjoy the outdoors: hike at the Superstition Mountain in Lost Dutchman State Park, go kayaking or tubing in the Salt River, visit the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium in Surprise, and go off-roading in New River. Of course the last place I’d take them to is Sedona for the endless hiking trails and local restaurants to try. As you can tell, I love getting outdoors and experiencing everything Arizona has to offer—there’s no shortage of adventure here.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to thank my mom and close friends that have cheered me on and watched me grow my skills and business since the beginning. It’s so crazy to see how much growth I’ve had in the past 4 years. Without their support I’d probably let imposter syndrome get the best of me and be doing something other than photography right now. So huge shout out to those people in my life!
