Meet Kelly Diffie | Artist / Paranormal Investigator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly Diffie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kelly, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
In a word: Discipline. There are days that I lack motivation to get out there and make things happen. Motivation is one of those things that ebbs and flows like the tides, it can come and it can go and if we rely on being motivated to accomplish goals we can find ourselves way off target because we have missed opportunities that we were not motivated to accomplish. Discipline however is the act of making something routine. If you are disciplined to achieve your goals then it is just something you do like breathing, you don’t have to worry about whether you woke up on the right side of the bed, or if you are feeling it or feeling like it because you just do it.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art styles are unique enough to set me apart from other artists, but familiar enough that a wide variety of people can appreciate and enjoy them. I have a visually appealing color pallette that is shared among the vast majority of my work.
My space themed art is featured at the Meteor Crater gift shop in Northern Arizona and is viewed by upwards of 300,000 visitors per year and has also been on display previously at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, AZ. My other art (in addition to some of my space art) can also often be found on display or for sale in a couple of the local coffee shops around Flagstaff as well.
I continue to expand my artistic horizons, often making charitable art donations to help with fundraising for local non profit organizations.
There are many projects in the works, with hopes to expand our client and fan bases around the world throughout 2023 and in the years to come, including groundwork for a fashion label, amongst others.
Everything I have accomplished this far in my professional career has pretty much been on my own. The struggles I have faced are innumerable, but with persistence and a lot of faith in myself I have managed to find a home in the world of art and in the hearts of wonderful people all around the world, my art now resides in over 40 countries on 5 continents and in 44 or more states domestically.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Flagstaff (and very local surrounding area) is one of the Meccas of outdoor adventure in the United States. Only 90 minutes from the Grand Canyon, the Bright Angel Trail hike is a fun and light challenge that virtually anyone can enjoy. 40 minutes southwest of Flagstaff is the Village of Oak Creek and Sedona, both of which make for an amazing day trip filled with the sights and sounds of nature, or jam packed with a variety of art galleries and awesome restaurants if the great outdoors is not your thing, but you still enjoy some great natural scenery. The Apache Death Cave at Two Guns and the Casino at Twin Arrows each have appeal for different reasons to different people but ultimately this area has something for everyone and narrowing it down to one or 2 adventures around here can be nearly impossible.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My close friend @Mdartlabs (Instagram) who is an amazing artist who always supports and encourages me to move upward and onward to greater heights in all that I do.
Everyone who has ever taken home a piece of art from my collection! Thank you all!
