We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiana Watson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiana, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is confidence and consistency. As a plus sized model, I strive to show that size does not define your beauty. I want to be an inspiration to those who need that reminder.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I never thought I would be where i am at today with my modeling career, but i am forever grateful. The work started slowly coming in about 2 years ago from simply word of mouth. I label myself as a Plus Sized Model and companies wanted bigger girls to represent them. My first consistent gig was a lovely company called Revenge Lingerie. Representing their brand is what created the foundation for my new career.

However it hasn’t all been smooth. I had to create a cancelation policy and various contracts to prevent my time from being wasted or being taken advantage of.

So far, ive learned that you’re not a fit for everyone’s brand and thats okay. I will always stay true to myself and stay genuine!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would love to start off simple by showing them my favorite coffee shop. Im a huge “planner” so from there, we’d make an itinerary of what they want to do and how i can make it happen. A must is my favorite burger place called Sammy’s in Goodyear! If we wanted to escape the heat, Slide Rock is where you’ll find us!

Id like to thank every company that has given me a chance to represent their brand, my extremely supportive family, and anyone who has cheered me on.
