We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim Ebeling and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kim, how does your business help the community?
We work really hard to reduce our impact when it comes to single use items at events. While we know it is not always possible, we try to limit any single use items. When we do have to use single use items, we look for the most sustainable items like bamboo plates over plastic. We also do our best to partner with catering to make sure any single use plastic is recycled instead of thrown away in the garbage. By simply bringing sustainability into the conversation, we hope we are able to make our clients more aware as well and it encourages them to make better choices for their wedding and beyond.

What should our readers know about your business?
My company, Ebeling Events. is a boutique event planning company that focuses on hosting amazingly fun and elegant outdoor events that are sustainable and unique for each of our clients. We believe that our focus on guest service and organization really set us apart. Years of training at Disney have instilled these core values into me and I do my best to pass those values onto the team. We also give back to a nonprofit organization for every event we produce, plan & manage.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Since we are heading into the Spring, if my best friend was visiting we would take advantage of the great weather and some of the best places in town. We would go hiking in the mornings, hit up a Spring Training game or two, go shopping at The Quarter and grab dinner at North Italia, The Sicilian Baker and The Vig.

One day we would head to Casella’s Italian Deli for their amazing sandwiches and to see the picture on the wall from my graduating class at Saguaro High School. (Have you noticed yet, that I love Italian food?) Then we would go golfing at Top Golf.

We would grab coffee at Black Rock Coffee a few mornings and reminisce about when we first met. If she wasn’t already staying at the Hyatt at Gainey Ranch, we would probably get some day passes and hang out by the pool at least one day as well.

There are so many great places in Scottsdale & Phoenix and I am now ready for her to come!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have been working with a fabulous coach this year, Bonnie Utley of Blossom of Snow. She is guiding me to think deeper about what is important and help me see both the tiny details and the big picture of what I really want professionally and personally as my business grows.

I have also had an amazing support group in the members of the Rising Tide Society. I participate in the local Phoenix chapter and lead the group in Thousand Oaks, CA which is closest to our main offices in Malibu, CA. The purpose or idea behind RST is that together we are better, together we rise. Community Over Competition. I love the concept and agree uplifting others is so much better than trying to cut down others in our industry and in life!
