Meet Kim Ollerhead | Twin Adventure Mom

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim Ollerhead and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kim, what inspires you?
I am most inspired by my children.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love sharing things to do with your family and I try to keep it local to help support our local businesses. It makes me happy to find a new coffee shop where they have some games for kids and a great cup of coffee for the parents. What a great way for a parent to get some work done, a family to spend time together or new Moms to hang out with friends. I have been honored to meet so many local business owners. I am even more honored to become friends with many of them through working together. It definitely has been an uphill road. There is no set formula to succeed, especially in the social media world. There are a lot of people who do something similar to what I do, so getting my name out there can be challenging. I may reach out to 10 businesses I want to work with and only 1 will even respond. But I keep going. I keep making lists of things to do and sharing all of our adventures with everyone. I hope people like my honesty and excitement of all of our adventures.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was in town I would take her to do all the fun things. We would start with coffee at Let’s Meet Up or Cafe Au Plait. Our kids would play at Jordan’s Corner, check out all the places at Arizona Boardwalk during the day. We would eat dinner at some local favorite restaurants such as Four Peaks, Lou’s At Papago, The Spot in Arcadia or pick up pizza from our favorite pizza joint, Streets of New York and hang out by the pool. We would do a day trip to do a destination hike in Payson or Cottonwood. If the Diamondbacks were playing at home, we would be there cheering on the boys. There may be some mural hunting for fun pictures in front of all the great art our state has, or there may be a stop at a typical tourist attraction, but mostly it would be spontaneous and local unique fun things.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout definitely starts with my parents! If it wasn’t from them helping out, I would have gone crazy a long time ago! When my babies were little, they would come over and help feed them, get in lots of snuggles and give me time to run errands or sleep. Now they will grab the kids from school or have a spontaneous sleepover when I need to get some work done.
I also owe a lot to my favorite local blogger who got me started sharing adventures. I basically sent Jana a message saying “I love your honest reviews, I want to work with you.” That stated not only the blogging and Instagram, but a friendship between families.
