We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberlie Faybik and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberlie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

I started out doing Reiki and tarot readings but wished I could offer ways to help my clients process things that came up in the sessions. I felt as if I wasn’t doing them justice by simply offering energy work and readings; I wanted to assist their healing journey, find closure and empower them to nurture their souls.

I discovered other holistic modalities and found a passion in the healing arts. My journey led me to Southwest Institute of Healing Arts where I earned an AOS in Mind / Body Transformational Psychology and Clinical Hypnotherapy. In 2014 I made the decision to dedicate my time to helping others and created White Willow Healing Arts.

When creating my business plan I chose to focus on modalities that I credit with helping me through my darkest times in the hopes I could help others through theirs. Reiki and intuitive readings are among the more popular services I offer with hypnosis and auriculotherapy following.

Running your own business is an evolving process and I’ve learned a lot about myself and how I can best use my gifts. In Reiki, for example, I am able to receive messages from the client’s Spirit Guides that relate to each chakra. I write them down and at the end of each session I sit with my clients and review what came up. Often, I will pick up on things the client is feeling and this helps me better understand how to meet their needs.

Another cause important to me is supporting and advocating for our LGBTQ+ community. White Willow Healing Arts mission is devoted to healing, educating and empowering people in a peaceful, holistic, inclusive environment.

I believe we all have the ability to nurture ourselves in body, mind and spirit and live in harmony and serenity. My goal is to encourage others to follow their path and give them the tools to thrive. I recognize each client as an individual and vow to treat them with respect, integrity and compassion.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

White Willow Healing Arts was founded in 2014. From an early age I remember being blessed with gifts of Spirit including the ability to communicate with individuals’ higher selves and guides, as well as connecting with deceased loved ones and experiences from past lives. It wasn’t until 2009 that I realized how strong my connection to Spirit was when I underwent treatment for a stage IV, rare and aggressive type of cancer called Merkel Cell Carcinoma. During radiation treatments, I was introduced to Reiki and felt amazing after my first session. I vividly remember leaving the cancer center that day and feeling a shift in my vibration; I could see the auras of everyone and everything around me. It was wild!
I wanted to know more about Reiki and other holistic modalities so I started taking classes in everything I felt called to do. I became a Reiki Master and Certified Essential Oils practitioner by my one-year cancer-free anniversary. Since then, I furthered my studies and became a Certified Life Coach, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Master Herbalist and Holistic Wellness Practitioner. I hold an AOS in Mind / Body Transformational Psychology and Clinical Hypnotherapy from the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts as well as a Bachelors in Psychology, Human Development and Alternative Therapeutic Modalities from Prescott College.

I always say having a stage IV cancer diagnosis was a scary blessing in my life. Had it not been for that part of my journey I feel I would never have stumbled upon my passions. I understand how impersonal our healthcare system is not only because of my own personal experiences but also from working in a hospital setting for more than 25 years. I started White Willow Healing Arts as a way to create a more peaceful and holistic healing environment. By combining different modalities, using powerful coaching tools and proven hypnosis techniques along with my gifts of Spirit, I can assist my clients in resolving negative habits and fears, help make them healthy lifestyle changes, manage chronic pain, resolve and release spiritual trauma and guide them to the outcome they desire.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Southern Arizona is filled with beautiful locations that I enjoy. Patagonia Lake is a favorite spot to spend a day with friends and loved ones. A hike on Mount Lemon helps clear my head and ground myself in nature. For a long weekend, my children and I take trips up to Show Low or Prescott. Concerts and hockey games are other fun things I like to do with family and friends. My daughter and I enjoy cooking and baking together but we love stumbling upon local bakeries.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

My children, Kyla and Jake, motivate me every day. From beating my cancer diagnosis, completing two college degrees and starting my own business; they are what keep me striving to do better and be better. I want to make them proud and show them that no matter what life throws at you, you can achieve anything if you believe in yourself and keep moving forward. I am also blessed to have a support system filled with loved ones who are there for me during my highs and lows.

In regards to my education, Southwest Institute of Healing Arts and Prescott College offer courses in holistic health and wellness and the educators and faculty truly care about each student. I completed a separate degree with each institution and felt supported and celebrated throughout.
