We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Peri and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Since my day job is Risk Management, I look at risk in a variety of ways – risks are good to take providing you have thought out what that means and that you have measures in place to mitigate the risk if it is beyond your threshold. In my business I use my risk management skills to get to the root cause of what’s happening in an animal as well since getting to the root cause is key versus how western medicine these days looks at the situation and works to fix a symptom over finding out the “Why”.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is called In Harmony Integrated Wellness. I am certified in Animal Acupressure, am a Reiki Master and also provide Red Light and PEMF therapy for animals. I can do Reiki for humans as well.
I am just in the beginning stages of building my business while still working full-time as a Risk Management professional in the Financial Services industry. I have spent over 20 years in Risk Management and believes it lends itself easily to how we view health in both ourselves and our animals. We tend to be a society of fixing symptoms and immediate gratification but not really getting to the root cause of the problem. That’s where I can help, by thinking with my risk mindset and looking at things from a macroeconomic point of view when it comes to our animals. Looking for the root cause and not a solution to mask the symptoms.
I have always had a deep love for animals – all animals but in particular dogs. I have been owned by Golden Retrievers for over 30 years. I currently have two, Wave and Cruizer. As a child I wanted to be a veterinarian but life doesn’t always turn out to be what we want and that’s ok.
Someone years ago once said to me “Kim, when are you going to do what you were meant to do?” I’ve kept that close to my heart and in 2017, I decided to pursue my passion with animals by enrolling in an animal practitioner program with Tallgrass Animal Acupressure. I completed my coursework in 2023 and am currently studying for my accreditation exam. by taking the test, it’s tests my knowledge and challenges me to continuously improve and challenge my assumptions. It will also give me me more credibility with clients.
So has it been easy, no not really. But it has been a welcome journey and every day I see an animal and am able to help them, I make a difference in both their life and the life of their owners. There is nothing more gratifying to me than that.
In most jobs or careers you do not get to do that, but helping animals is so rewarding and fulfilling to me.I am excited for the future and look forward to serving the animals in my community along with furthering my education in Western Herbology, Essential Oils and Massage.,

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting I would either take them to Prescott or Sedona. The drive alone to both is beautiful and during the summer months especially it’s cooler there. Sedona is a magical place filled with beautiful scenery, topography and great little shops and restaurants.
Prescott is equally as nice, not as touristy but has a history that is rich and the homes and architecture is beautiful. There are great little places to eat and it is quite dog friendly too. Both towns have great hiking as well.
If we had more than a weekend we could do a road trip to the White Mountains and hit all of the little towns and lakes along the way, experiencing nature, the outdoors and the different vibes in each place..

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my Dad, Salvatore Peri. He has been the greatest inspiration and mentor in my life. His dedication, love and support throughout his life made me the person I am today.
