We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Sylvester and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristen, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Fly Free Artistry was founded on the principle of chronicling life. I searched for a business that captured the magic and adventure of children. As a mother to five it was crucial for me to find a creative who could allow children to dream the impossible, to seek the adventure, and to capture the true moments of awe and wonder in the moment. The moments we can’t get back, but we can treasure and create timeless heirloom works of art.

To dream big, to chase life arms wide opened, and to curate a story that is seen through the heart and joy of a child’s heart. To build confidence and esteem, to document milestone moments, and to create a moment that transcends time.

I wanted to redefine child portraits through engaging the soul, bringing adventures to life, and leaving a timeless work of art for years to come. To imagine a world where you design your canvas. give one on one moments to directly capture your children; their youth and you do it stress free. To allow children’s self-esteem and confidence to grow with beautiful stories and works of art where they hold the story, adventure, and joy.

A business that would stand the test of time and be a bridge to making the impossible possible, and the adventures of life that will be magical, uplifting, and unforgettable.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Capturing life has always been a huge priority in my life. The moments we live should be celebrated, remembered, and treasured. Time is fleeting and I wanted to freeze time, to create works of art that curated a life well lived. I wanted to story tell with arms and heart wide open. It was important for me to create magic and to make the impossible possible.

It hasn’t been an easy journey, but every step has been worth it. I have been able to dig deep into my soul and create beautiful masterpieces. Masterpieces that will stand the test of time. I have met some incredible people in my journey and have been truly blessed to tell their story. All the hard work and passion has a purpose in my story, but it’s not about my own, but others. It’s always been about seeing the wonder and joy in a child, capturing the love of the heart, and telling the story of living through their lens. It’s about the whimsical, joyous, moments in time that we experience through adventure.

My brand is not about my story it is about the story of my clients. The moments they want to relive in time, and the joy that living a life through magical adventures creates. It’s about building a story that illustrates all of the emotion, all of the connections, and every single chronicle of life. The moments of love, bonds, and immeasurable joy that only can be found within the personal story of every single client that I serve.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Arizona is filled with adventure in beauty in all the right places. Explore the parks and beauty of nature, visit the downtown areas for history and enjoy the entertainment and community. There is so much to explore and enjoy and everything is close and convenient. The rapid growth is bringing so many exciting new things to see and do in the valley.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am so thankful for my family who has supported my vision and journey from day one. Those who have come alongside me and entrusted me to capture life. Words could never express my gratitude and thanks to the ones who have loved me through every hurdle. To my husband who has been my biggest fan and has never stopped believing in my dreams and goals. I am truly grateful for every mentor, every client, and all the support throughout my journey. Never stop believing in the impossible and never give up on yourself.
