We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristina Sosnowski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristina, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
My thought process was liking to be creative and using my artistic skills and ideas and bringing them to life. My mother owned a floral shop and was always interested in different designs and colors. I always liked to watch her be creative. So I followed her footsteps not with flowers but crayons and putting together different designs and colors for kids to find their own creative minds.

Most outsiders would not know that we have to soak and peel each individual crayon by hand. Also each letter is handfilled, baked, and filled with a blast of bright colors.

I always liked to take chances and when I have an idea I follow my dream. When my previous job was closing down I took the risk of investing a hundred dollars in my future and so far it has exceeded my expectations ten fold.

The most important factor behind my success is my family and friends encouraging me to keep my thought process always fresh.

I started my crayon business while my other business was still up and running. When my crayon business bloomed I had to decide if I wanted to keep both going. After a long decision making I decided to close my other shop down.

My balance having more personal time is less since I put all my energy and time into my business. During my off season it time balances itself.

My affirmation is spiritual which is on a daily basis of seeing 11:11 on numerous occasions in which I tell myself I am on the right path.

That no matter how old I am I will always be a kid at heart. I hope people remember me as the adult kid who likes to color

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is for all ages. What sets my crayons business apart from the others is we offer coloring kits, plaster paint kits and crayon gift baskets. I am most proud of my paint kits, these have been a great addition to my business. These are fun for all age groups! I even have adults ordering.

It was not easy, it was a lot of learning experiances. I made mistakes, in which I had to learn over the years. I had to fix little things, re brand my shop to grow the type of experience I wanted my customer to have.

I want the world to know that no matter your age, what idea you have. Just take that chance. Set your mind to it and take that leap. You just never know what the outcome may be. I sure didn’t!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Funny – My best friend from Chicago will be here in Aug this year. We love to go jeeping. We would go to Sedona and find a few trails and go exploring. Stopping to take photos, see how far we can push ourselves with climbing hills and trails. We love to go to little speakeasy pop up bars and resturants. Trying new food and drinks.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents, they always supported me in all my adventures. My best friend Jun who has always been there for me and helped in my busy days ” living her dream job”
