Meet Krystal Popov | Founder of The L Offices & Proper Shops

We had the good fortune of connecting with Krystal Popov and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Krystal, what do you attribute your success to?
I had been part of a coworking space during my time in Phoenix and Chicago and I knew Tucson was missing an inspiring entrepreneur Coworking environment. I was sure I could create that. once I have a vision, I don’t give up! I was also intentional about bringing wellness into the workplace. Both of our combine 25000 sq feet of private offices and coworking space have gyms, golf simulators, and we bring in community wellness experts in every Wednesday.
There is an awareness today that didn’t exist a few generations ago. It’s an awareness that money is important, but not always the most important. Earning great money brings more options and lifestyle choices, but should not be made at the expense of your priorities such as health, family, and faith. This foundational balance will allow you to live a life of abundance without sacrifice.
I have created this vibe in our coworking spaces and people can feel it when they spend time with us.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Flexible office and coworking spaces are thriving coming out of the pandemic. Especially spaces with multiple size meeting and event rooms like our 2 locations. With many companies going to a remote or hybrid work model, they can now shed that massive overhead of a commercial lease. They just need a few offices to meet clients, a business address, maybe a meeting room or two to hold company wide meetings. And the fact that we only do month to month leases they can add or remove an office or desk as needed. Flexibility is what employers and employees are looking for! And that is what coworking provides. That being said, running a premier coworking space is not easy and has many expenses. Any person who wants to start a coworking space really must dial in expenses and be certain that the price per office or desk fits in that geographical area. I have 2 very different clientele’s in my 2 locations that are only 15 minutes away from each other. I am proud of the brand that we have created! We are the premier flex office spaces in Tucson. We have won many awards including the 2022 Readers Choice Coworking Space of the Year and a finalist for Startup of The Year by the Metro Chamber of Commerce. It’s because we set an intension for our space and then attracted the most amazing members!!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Tucson is a place of Art, Nature, and Incredible Food! I would definitely start my week off with Tucson Trolley Tours run by the amazing Tom Heath to learn a little about our history of our City. When spending time downtown, El Charro Steak is a perfect dinner spot before seeing a show at the Fox Theater or listening to a band at Hotel Congress (the hotel known for the site of the capture of gangster and bank robber John Dillinger in 1934). If you like local breweries as much as I do, we would then stop by Boarderlands or Ten55 for a refreshing break. University Blvd and the University of Arizona Campus is a beautiful walk during any month except July and August. A stop for lunch at Frog n Firkin for a sandwich called the Lady Di or a slice of thick pizza would be perfect! A more modern area of the City that I love to spend time in is St Philips Plaza. They have a great weekend farmers market, lovely boutiques, yoga, Pilates, and F45. The 3 locally run restaurants at St Philips plaza are built by Grant Kruegar and has become a local hot spot. Watching a UofA basketball game at McKale Center or Union Public House brings much energy and excitement! Then a sunset hike on A Mountain, Finger Rock, or Saguaro National Park will display all the beauty the desert can bring!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My entrepreneurial drive comes from watching my Mom start and run one of the top Pool Construction Companies in Arizona, Valley Oasis Pools and Spas. She has taught me from an early age that you can visualize and then build anything you put your mind to. My husband, Alex, is my biggest support. Through building multiple businesses, and having 3 kids, he is my “home and is supportive of all the risks I take. I had a great base of education from the University of Arizona Systems and Industrial Engineering Department, but I learned most of my entrepreneur mindset from the Network Marketing Industry. I continue to have a successful business with Tranont and have many incredible loving mentors at that company. It’s a great industry to learn and grow in business without much risk.
