We had the good fortune of connecting with Lacy Hodges and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lacy, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business serves the female communities around the world more specifically female entrepreneurs. As a business coach I show up every day with one goal… To support female entrepreneurs in building online businesses that allow them to create a life of FREEDOM, INDEPENDENCE, EMPOWERMENT, & CONFIDENCE! I believe that every single woman has the right to live a life they are dream of, desire & deserve. Building their own businesses will provide them with all of this and MORE! It’s time to step up and own the power we have as women to create a life & business of ULTIMATE FREEDOM!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I learned early on that the online world/social media is FLOODED with thousands of amazing women who also had the same dream, desire & determination to change the lives of other through their coaching which meant that as a coach myself in the online space I would need to really make some noise to be seen & heard amongst all these other coaches. The biggest obstacle I had in the early part of my business was figuring out what set me apart from all of those other women because at the time I started I couldn’t see how I could be different. Then I did some deep personal development work, got serious about my mindset, and decided to really get to know MYSELF as a woman, wife, mom, and business owner and that is where I found exactly what set me apart in the online coaching space… My Authenticity! I decided to just show up online as myself. I decided to coach my clients as myself w/ a no BS approach. I decided to shake up everything you are taught by other coaches in how you are to start, grow, and build your business in the online space. This authentic approach was a HUGE fear of mine but was also the best thing I ever did for the success of my business. I am most proud of the women I attract on social media & honored to work with them daily as they grow into that next big step of their business success. I got to where I am today business wise by showing up, doing the work & investing in myself as well as my business until I made it work. At first investing financially wasn’t really an option so I invested every single minute I had each day into my business. A lot of trial and error. A lot of mistakes. A lot of lessons. A lot of fun. Was it easy? HECK NO! I was able to overcome the hard days by showing up and pushing through. I would tell myself to throw in the towel multiple times a day sometimes but kept going right back to laptop to try again. I could feel in my gut I was on the edge of a “breakthrough” but I didn’t know when or how what I did know was I couldn’t let the internet “beat me”. — What I mean is… I knew if others around me, on social media, could do it then I could too and I had to prove to myself that I could show up, share my message, and help others with my knowledge in making money with their online businesses. I wasn’t sure if I would do this as a career at the time because it eventually became about proving I could do it. lol The biggest lessons I have learned so far in this journey is always trust your gut. If what you are doing doesn’t feel easy then it’s probably wrong. Try things your own way bc in the end… What do you have to lose? Can’t be worse than where you are right now but you have everything to gain. What I want the world to know about me, my brand and my story is this… I am a mother of 5 beautiful children, 18 to 5, a wife to my husband of 16 years, a daughter, sister, and human being who started her online coaching business with a Facebook group and scraping together $9 to invest in a self study coaching program 5 years ago. Today, I have a successful coaching business that just cleared over $375k in 2020 during a pandemic only working 2-3 days a week 4-6 hour days and took the entire summer off as planned prior to the pandemic. If I can find the time each to build a coaching business online that makes money, signs clients and gets results than you can too. Time is available it just depends on how important something is to you in order to allow it to take up your time. You can do this. You can make money online. You can have more in life. You deserve it now it’s time to demand it from yourself.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit me here in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area I would start our week long visit by booking a couple of nights at the Fairmont Princess. — Book a spa day. Hang by the pool cabana style. — Eat lunch, dinner and drinks on the property while participating in whatever event they were hosting at the time. From there we would spend the rest of our week doing a little shopping and walking while the weather is great. My favorite places to show my best friend would be: — Fashion Square. Splurge a little. Do some window shopping. Soak up the energy & vibes around us. — End our Fashion Square shopping with my favorite “self care” treat… Stop & shop at Tiffany’s. I purchase myself something, big or small, each time I go to Fashion Square. — Walk the waterfront & do some Old Town area exploring. Then one day during the week I would also take her to West Gate to the outlet. Fun environment. Great space and super relaxing.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to my mentor: Cassie Howard and to my husband for supporting, encouraging, and brainstorming the craziest ideas into reality.
