We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Curry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Since starting the company in Tacoma, WA, the vision behind Anne Curry Homes has always been to approach real estate differently by showing people how to build long-term wealth and create opportunities for their future.

The business has been built around that philosophy, often referred to as the “Get Rich Slow” mindset, making thoughtful, strategic real estate decisions that compound over time, which has shaped how we built the company. We want to have a business where clients aren’t just buying or selling a property, but thinking more strategically about what real estate could do for them long term.

As the business has grown, that same mindset has guided our official expansion to Scottsdale, Arizona, which I’m so excited to be leading under our new Arizona presence: Legacy House. Many of the clients we serve in Washington are investing and relocating across different markets, and we’ve grown alongside them. That’s a big part of what’s driving this expansion into Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix area, so we can continue supporting our clients wherever their next opportunity or legacy investment takes them.

What should our readers know about your business?
Anne Curry Homes was founded by my mom, Anne Curry, in Tacoma, Washington, with a mission to help people build long-term wealth through real estate. Growing up around that, I saw early on how powerful real estate can be in shaping someone’s financial future, and that perspective has led me, along with many of our team members, to become investors ourselves.

Today, while I help clients buy and sell homes, my focus is on guiding them to think more strategically, whether that’s purchasing their first property, building an investment portfolio, or expanding their assets over time.

Over time, I began to notice that many of the clients I was working with were expanding beyond Washington by investing, relocating, and purchasing second homes in Arizona. Expanding into Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix area felt like a natural next step. That expansion is now coming to life through Legacy House, our Scottsdale-based presence, designed to bring a more elevated, investment-minded, and relationship-driven experience to clients in this market while continuing to grow alongside them.

I’ll be leading our Scottsdale presence, and I’m excited to build something meaningful here through community, education, and curated investor events that help people take the next step with confidence.

At the end of the day, my goal is to help people use real estate as a tool to build a life they truly want. I’ve seen firsthand how consistent, intentional decisions can completely transform someone’s financial future and legacy. That’s what drives me, and why this next chapter with Legacy House feels so important.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This one is easy – Scottsdale is one of my favorite places to spend a full day!

I’d start the morning walking over to Four Till Four, especially if it’s a Saturday for their car show, and grabbing a coffee (they truly have the sweetest, best baristas). From there, I love taking a walk along the canal or heading to 5 Star Fitness for a workout class to get the day going.

For lunch, Blanco is a must – their queso is non-negotiable and it’s one of those places you end up going back to more than once in a week.

In the afternoon, if we’re doing a self-care day, I’d head to Muse Extension Lounge in Arcadia. Julia, Reilly, and Hannah are incredible at what they do! And if we’re in Old Town, Aria Nail Spa is always a go-to.

For dinner, I’d rotate between a few favorites depending on the vibe: Thea at The Global Ambassador for something elevated, Pinyon for a great atmosphere, or Buck & Rider for consistently amazing food.

Honestly, the best part about Scottsdale is how easy it is to balance everything. Good coffee and food, movement, sunshine, and a little bit of luxury all in one day!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people who have played a role in my story, and in the story of Anne Curry Homes and Legacy House, that it’s hard to name just one. I’m incredibly grateful for the community around me.

One person who had a profound impact on my life, though, is motivational speaker and author Ed Mylett. In 2021, I was at one of the lowest points in my life personally. I was extremely overweight and had a lack of purpose when I stumbled upon a podcast with Ed. Everything he said changed my life. His book, The Power of One More, led me to lose almost 90 pounds, become a real estate investor and agent, and start my newsletter, RE/SET.

I don’t say this lightly, but his words truly changed the trajectory of my life. They gave me the push I needed to take ownership, make a change, and become a version of myself I wasn’t sure was possible.
