Meet LAUREN LERNER | LIVING WITH LOLO

We had the good fortune of connecting with LAUREN LERNER and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LAUREN, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I am a firm believer that finding a good balance is essential in both my professional and personal life. It allows me to be a better business owner and mom. In the past, I wasn’t as good at prioritizing, and found that once I did, I flourished in many positive ways. Being able to hit the pause button has been critical in expanding my ability to be both present and productive in all aspects of my life. My personal soft spot is travel! It both revitalizes me and provides me with inspiration and creativity for our design projects. I love being able to incorporate design from a multitude of different settings and cultural elements which allows my projects to really shine.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Living with Lolo is a full-service luxury design firm. I feel our firm is unique because being that we are a smaller team we are able to have a stronger personal connection with our clients. I am also passionate about providing designs that push our clients beyond their comfort zones to create truly WOW spaces for them. Since I do not have a traditional design background, my creativity is not stifled by industry standards or “rules.” Having the ability to transform a client’s vision into something more spectacular than they imagined is extremely fulfilling. I know that this is the reason that our clientele has evolved and grown exponentially over the years. The path may have been unconventional however the reward has been beyond gratifying.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week-long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc? In your view, what are some of the most fun, interesting, exciting people, places, or things to check out?
This is an easy one! I absolutely love Arizona and all it has to offer. If my girlfriend was to visit, my ideal itinerary would include hiking or mountain biking in the desert, day trips to Sedona and the hidden wineries along the way, spa treatments at the very serene Four Seasons in North Scottsdale, cocktails on the patio at the Mission at Kierland, followed up by dinner at Etta at Scottsdale Quarter.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there a person, group, organization, book, etc that you want to dedicate your shoutout to? Who else deserves a little credit and recognition in your story?
I want to dedicate this Shoutout to both my son Zachary and my phenomenal team! My passion for design spanned many years, but until I had Zachary I had not been brave enough to make the leap and change career paths. I learned that embracing change can ultimately lead you to great things. Living with Lolo was established while I was adapting to the changes of being a new mom and seeing the importance of following my happiness. I have also been incredibly lucky to find a team of amazing women who have supported me and contributed to Living with Lolo’s success. Each team member brings a unique set of skills to the table which I know has added to why my design firm is the success it is today.
