We had the good fortune of connecting with Leda Morris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leda, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Being raw & authentically myself is the main key to sticking true to my brand. It has been my goal since day one to let my clients (& potential clients) know upfront that I AM my business. Whether it be sharing a story online, talking to my clients one-on-one, or even showing funny moments in my career, I always want everyone watching to know that my goal is to be inviting & easy-going so that they feel like they know who is on the other side. If they feel that connection with me, they’ll feel the connection with my brand.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being in front of a camera is never easy, especially when you don’t have control over how you may look. The main reason I started doing photography in the first place is because I wanted people to feel natural & carefree in their photos, even if there was a giant lens in their face. I wanted the raw emotion that didn’t feel staged. My main goal with my clients is to capture their candid selves, which I make happen by having them do prompts instead of stiff posing. I always strive to create a personal connection with every client that books with me, because they trust me to capture their memories.

Creating my business was not an easy-breezy start. I feel like a lot of people think that being a photographer is just a simple “click of a button”, but it is so much more. It’s getting to know your clients, it’s editing for hours, it’s driving out of town to find beautiful locations, it’s being consistently active on social media, it’s so much more than people realize. I started doing this as a hobby when I was only 15, taking prom photos & photoshoots of my friends in my backyard. It wasn’t until Covid first happened (such a weird time to start a business, right?) that I realized life is too short to not do what you love. My friends started off booking me for $50 a session, & from there I got some professional experience. Those friends told their friends, who told their friends, & eventually I had a ton of people loving my work. It was a slow & still ongoing process, but now I do what I am passionate about & I love going to work every day.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in this town are plentiful. I love going to Lake Mohave during the hot months, since it’s so dang hot here in Bullhead it’s the perfect summer activity. Not to mention it’s literally so beautiful in the desert. I also love going to Grapevine Canyon to hike, since there’s some really cool petroglyphs engraved in some of the rocks. I love to go camping in the Hualapai Mountains, not to mention they also have some killer hike trails as well. Since we’re only an hour and a half away from Las Vegas, a day trip out there once or twice a month is always nice, just to feel out the big city. Last but certainly not least, if you want a wild west experience I always love to go visit the wild donkeys in Oatman.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Much love to my husband who always supports me in my business & pushes me to work hard, & my best friend Haley who is always down to get creative with me & dedicate her time.
