We had the good fortune of connecting with Lei-Sa Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lei-Sa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
WE are a religious non profit. We started a ministry as an extension of that ministry which was World Outreach and Bible Training Center. After being in the community for about 10 years, we realized that the needs were different from the environment that we came from. We decided in 2022 to transitioned the church and change the name of it to Be Community Church.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Co-Pastor of Be Community Church, Author, Baker, and Founder of Girl Yes! Former educational consultant and cheer coach for over 3o years!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Our first stop would be Yogurt Jungle! With all of the changes happening in the city of Maricopa, it has remained a family favorite! Another stop we would make is to a City Council Meeting. Sounds strange, but it is one of the places they would be able to get a glimpse of why we love it here! Next we would go on a scavenger hunt around the city capturing a few selfies with the electrical box artwork and the beautiful horses created by the community. Our next stop would be AK-Chin Multitainment Center for dinner, a tour, and a little bowling or a movie. Our next stop would be Water and Ice! For us Water and Ice keeps a little taste of the “old town” vibe in tact and their smoothies are amazing! Finally, we would take a drive around the city to see how it has grown. We’d point out what’s old and what’s new, the schools, housing and new business developments and we’d end the afternoon by dining at one of the newest hot spots in town, Mandy’s Wine Bar. We wouldn’t have even scratched the surface but that would give them reason to come back to visit this wonderful city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband and I will be forever grateful to our former Pastors who have also been mentors as well as like family. The wisdom that they deposited in us has been invaluable and a large reason why we are still going strong 14 years later!
