We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsay Viker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsay, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I believe that local businesses are truly at the heart of our community and make our neighborhoods more interesting, more diverse, and overall a better place to live. Our goal with Viker Media is to empower local business owners to tell their stories through compelling photo and video content. Then, we help them amplify the reach of that content through key digital marketing tactics. Oftentimes I think business owners get so bogged down with the day-to-day activities that they forget how special their business is. We help uncover that and show their target audience exactly why they should support them over a big brand. This helps communities flourish and keep dollars in the local economy – something that is especially important in today’s world.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Viker Media was founded based on a love I have for storytelling. I have always had a passion for discovering a new restaurant, local hang out, or fun brand. I become obsessed with learning about the founder and why they started this company that I’ve grown to love. Creating compelling content is a beautiful way to tell that story, while at the same time helping business owners achieve real results to grow their business. My husband’s skills in photography and videography combined with my knowledge and application of digital marketing tactics have allowed us to grow this business over time. There have definitely been challenges as we’ve each worked to perfect our skillset to keep up with ever-changing trends, but we are passionate about what we do which keeps us pushing forward. One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned along the way is how important a discovery call is. We work closely with our clients to develop a content plan and strategy that will help them achieve real results. Our goal is not to just deliver a pretty picture, but to help our clients hit that next milestone in their business.Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Restaurants: I definitely consider myself a foodie. When I’m not trying new recipes for my food blog, everydaydishes.com, I’m checking out these local restaurants. Breakfast – Omelet at Fáme Caffe No matter how many delicious omelets I try, none can compare to Fáme’s. It’s light, fluffy, and full of flavor. Lunch – Tacos at The Beach House I like to have a day full of activity, so stopping for a quick and causal midday bite at The Beach House is perfect. Try out a few different tacos and you won’t be disappointed. Drinks – Cocktails and Fries at Little Rituals If you love cocktails, Little Rituals is the place for you. Their cocktail menu was created by the geniuses at Bitter & Twisted, but it’s paired way down which makes selecting much easier. Plus it’s a little bit easier to grab a table – a big win in my book. The Hurricane Unami Fries are also a MUST no matter what time of night you stop by. Dinner – Modern Mexican food at Chantico One of the newer restaurants in Phoenix, Chantico has impressed me with their upscale environment and downright delicious food. Start with a Mexi-Jito, be sure not to skip the delicious chips and salsa, and enjoy anything off the dinner menu and you won’t be disappointed. Things to Do: Phoenix has such a vibrant arts scene featuring the best of local and world-class artists. There’s truly something for everyone. Japanese Friendship Garden – Step away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and into the serene environment of the Japanese Friendship Garden. A few minutes here will have you feeling totally zen. Phoenix Art Museum – This world-class art museum is a must-see destination for locals and out of towners alike. There’s always something new to see and appreciate from around the world. Oak Street Murals – This is one of my newer finds and it’s such a local treasure. Check out murals from Arizona artists that capture the spirit and vibrancy of Phoenix. The Vanburen – I’ve never had a bad time at The Vanburen. No matter how big or small the performer is, they know how to create the right buzz for a night that you won’t forget. Shopping: I’m a girl who loves a closet full of clothes and showing up to the celebration with the exact right gift. Here’s where I find my special treasures. Vintage by Misty – This isn’t your run-of-the-mill vintage store. Misty knows how to curate pieces that were special then and look cooler than ever now. Local Nomad – Any time I need a gift, Local Nomad is my destination. They find the coolest pieces from artists around the world, guaranteed to make your friend, family member, co-worker – or even yourself! – feel absolutely special. Muse – Boho babes won’t be able to get enough of the cool selection of flowy dresses, perfectly distressed tees, flattering flares, and must-have accessories at Muse. The only thing you have to worry about is how to choose! Charmed Avenue – If you need a new outfit for tonight, Charmed Avenue is your destination. They curate the best pieces of the season to make it easy for women of all shapes, sizes, and styles to find the perfect thing. Not sure where to start? Just ask them! Their team of personal stylists does all the hard work of shopping for you. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My dad has always pushed me to go further than I thought was possible and my mom cheered me along in the good and tough times. I’m so grateful for my entire family’s love and support throughout my entire life.
