We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Deschamps and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsey, what makes you happy? Why?
I love painting, drawing, and creating things. I think there’s real magic in handmade things, so it makes me really happy to make things of my own.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m Lindsey Deschamps, owner of Lindsey Day Studio. I create artful illustrations and animations for rad brands and publications to use on social media and beyond. I also design artwork, fun gifts, and products for the artful home. I love creating artwork that celebrates the little things in life and the human experiences we all share.

Bold color, nature, and whimsy are three things I love and try to incoporate into everything I make. It’s so fun to bring art and business together like this and I’m honored that clients and customers let me do it!

Outside of art and animation, I love to read, take walks outside, and hang out with my husband and my dog Lucy. Comedy TV shows give me life!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Salt Lake City is really a hidden gem. I’d take a visitor on a few hikes for sure, especially during wildflower season in the mountains. As far as restaurants go, I’d hit up Spitz for Greek food, White Horse, and Gourmandise in downtown Salt Lake. A comedy show at Wise Guys is a must, and exploring antique shops and boutiques downtown is so fun!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I can’t recommend Dylan Mierzwinski’s Fellow Artist Group enough! It’s a community of illustrators who are all learning and grooving together navigating the art world. Having a supportive, helpful online community like that has made all the difference for me.
