We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Hewitt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsey, what do you attribute your success to?
4 things (not necessarily in this order):

A phenomenal product, fantastic customer service, the support of my family, and bringing the best element to my brand…ME!

I provide a phenomenal product. The sophisticated look of our cupcakes entices you, the stellar quality and taste keeps you coming back for more (I had to fail miserably in order to achieve both!). But, no matter how wonderful my cupcakes may be, no one will do business with me if I do not provide the most amazing customer service and portray professionalism.

I make it my goal to make each client a friend. A smile, using their name frequently, remembering significant events in their life…a little kindness goes a long way. Go the extra mile. Then, not only am I providing a wonderful product but a feel-good valuable service as well.

Tie all of that together with a little splash of me (a bold, loud, fun, vibrant personality) mixed with my signature color of lime green and you have a bold brand that is notably glitter, glam, and a ‘lil rock ‘n’ roll!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always been an artistic individual. I went to college at ASU for interior design and love bold and bright asthetics. I have applied my bold artistic ideas into every aspect of my business. I’m not scared to be loud and draw a little attention. This “fearlessness” of being gawked at is what has made my brand so prevalent.

The biggest artistic marketing risk that I have taken (besides diving head first into designing every aspect of my new cupcake shop) is with my delivery vehicle. My personality is bold, loud, fun, and vibrant. I wanted my marketing to match my style. And, since I live in my vehicle conducting cupcake deliveries, going on supply runs, and shuttling my kids to and from school and sports activities, what better way to advertise my company than through my car??!!

Since my husband is the guru of all things mechanical, he helped me find a 2012 Kia Soul that was mechanically sound. New tires, new wheels, a neon green vehicle wrap, sparkly diamond side mirrors, window tint, advertising decals…SO much went into transforming the “Cupcake Car.” We put a lot of time and money into this vehicle to give life to my creative vision. I was terrified that I had made a bad choice spending so much on an older vehicle to not receive much return out of it. WRONG!!! This little expolsion of lime green awesomeness has tripled our business. People wave as we drive down the street, take photos with me and the car, post us all over social media. BEST (and most fun) marketing decision ever!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family: Though I currently run and manage most of the day-to day operations, I could not do any of it without the help of my husband, son (14), and daughter (12). Assisting with everything from deliveries, wedding/event set-ups, quality control, making boxes, and taste testing (that’s the super fun part!), I would be lost without their help. And, the level of intensity is about to increase as we ramp up to prepare for the opening of our very first storefront in Gilbert in late February 2023.

My clients:
I have some of the best clients in the world! As I previously said, they are friends, not just customers. Most of my clients are repeat customers and a good handful of them have been with me since the start of my bakery over 12 years ago!

The small business community:
The love and support from other small businesses that I have developed relationships with is unmatched! And, the level of support and community is just wonderful.
