Meet Lindsey Young | Creator/Founder of OM in the Hills, Yoga Instructor, and Sound Healer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When creating OM in the Hills I had just recently finished my yoga teacher training, and my mind was absolutely flooded with different ways that I could share yoga with my community. I quickly gained additional certifications in sound healing and SUP yoga, and was inspired to host outdoor events and experiences. I definitely needed a business to do all of this creating under, and that became OM in the Hills. I knew that this business would grow into something larger than I could imagine at the time. I had and still have so much passion for what I do, as I hope most business owners do! I wanted this business to be an extension of myself, so that whether we were doing a retreat, doing yoga, hiking, etc, it would all be provided by OM in the Hills. I hoped for a business that would grow as I did.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
With OM in the Hills I have had countless opportunities to share the light of yoga with the world. OM in the Hills has hosted events, experiences, retreats, festivals, and has collaborated with many other individuals sharing their practices. I take great pride in hosting events in unique places such as Himalayan Salt Caves, Natural Hot Spring & Spas, and a variety of outdoor venues. In sharing my practices at exciting and welcoming venues I aim to invite all in my communities to enjoy the healing practices of yoga and sound healing. OM in the Hills is undergoing transition as we build a sustainable off-grid yoga sanctuary. This is a very exciting time as I will be continuing my education as a yoga instructor and will be utilizing this time in my career to travel both nationally and internationally to host retreats and experiences.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Lake Havasu City is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and is a hands down must see! This desert city has character and class, and you are sure to feel like you are on vacation when you are there. I recommend visiting and paddleboarding the Bridgewater Channel Canal! Don’t forget to check out the other desert communities along the Colorado River.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate a shoutout to my husband Jackson Young! Not only has he fully supported me on my yogic journey, but he is also an essential part of the OM in the Hills Team! If you have attended my events or retreats I’m sure you have noticed his contributions to keep us safe and grounded. I simply would not be where I am today without Jackson’s support and encouragement.
