Meet Lisa J. Weiss | Transformation Maven, Speaker & Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa J. Weiss and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson my business has taught me is to trust and follow my instincts. When I get caught up in paying attention to how “everyone else” is running their business, that is when I find things get difficult.
Trust is the biggest invitation my business has brought to my attention over the years.

What should our readers know about your business?
Every part of my career has been about helping people to connect and communicate more effectively with the people in their world.
Over the years, my focus has been to work with individuals who feel lost, abandoned, misunderstood and alone, both personally and professionally. Through their experiences, they feel they have lost the ability to trust themselves. I help my clients identify one of three states, Disembodied, Cerebral and Aware, all of which are often outside of their awareness, informing the choices they make every day. Once they identify the state or states running under the surface of their awareness, I teach them how to become more Aligned by engaging a process that invites them to utilize breath as a way to bridge the gap between their words, and what is happening in their body.
More recently, I have shifted my focus to working with women and couples who are going through their second or more IVF process. I help them learn how to reframe their thoughts of inadequacy, calm the warrior and navigate the roller coaster of emotions so they can be more present to themselves and each other throughout the process. Having been through this process myself, I am aware of many of the challenges.
I often find the question “what sets you apart?” to be interesting. There are really only two things I feel set me apart from others, my unique experiences and perspectives. Those, combined with a blend of processes, invite individuals to Shift their Perspective, Transform their relationships and Evolve their world.
I am where I am today because of my determination and complete trust in mySELF. I am most proud of the fact that I have not given up, that I continue to believe in the power of the work I do. And, I am super excited to experience the next level of evolution of my business and my life, as they are intrinsically linked. It has not always been easy, and it has not always been fun, and I can think of no other way to live! I have to say, I have curated an incredible support system of friends, family and colleagues who continue to believe in me, tell me when they see me going off course and honour my choices.
The lessons I learned along the way are linked to an earlier question of trust. Learning over and over again to trust my instincts and deep impulses. Discovering that, when I veer off course, things become hard. I also have learned that every choice I make is perfect and provides me with the knowledge and information to adjust and move forward.
What do I want the world to know about my brand and my story? I offer an invitation for my clients to discover the intelligence of every choice they make, and that it is possible to reframe their thoughts, shift from where they are in this moment, and align with who they have the potential to become, again and again. My ability to understand where they stand stems from some of my own experiences of feeling inadequate, not enough, abandoned, lost, and not worthy.
My story includes my personal journey of two unsuccessful in vitro procedures, an unsuccessful adoption process and a marriage that was not able to withstand it all were not failures; they were the invitations for me to become who I am today. And because of that, I am able to stand and walk beside each one of my clients when they are ready to embark and engage on their journey. I want everyone to know each person has the potential to SHIFT, TRANSFORM and EVOLVE their life and their world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Having recently moved back to Montreal, after living in Ottawa for 25 years, I am rediscovering this city. When friends came to visit, we attended some of the amazing festivals such as the Jazz Festival, Les Nuits D’Afrique and Just for Laughs. I have a personal city tour of Old Montreal, St. Joseph’s Oratory and the Mount Royal lookouts. We checked out the various murals in and around the city, visited the markets and ate in various restaurants in Le Plateau. We also enjoy just sitting in a restaurant’s outdoor patio in Old Montreal, being in the city watching the buskers, listening to music and people watching. Montreal has no end of things to do and explore!
When I lived in Ottawa, often I would take visitors to the Tulip festival, the lights on the Parliament buildings at night, explore the Byward Market, hike in the Gatineau Hills, visit the wonderful little towns and villages just outside of the city, like Almonte, Perth and Merrickville, drive, walk or bike along the Ottawa River Parkway and the Rideau Canal, and in the winter skate on the Rideau Canal. Of course, Canada Day in Ottawa is a favourite.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people who have supported and inspired me on my journey. It’s hard to pick just one. The person who most influenced me at the beginning of my journey would be the woman who invited me to begin the journey back to mySELF, Louise LeBrun, Founder of the WEL-Systems® Institute. This is where my journey to rediscover the essence of who I am began.
More recently, I am grateful to Steve and Jayne Lowell for the opportunity to be a co-author of “Emerge: Be the Unmistakable Authority in Your Field”; for the encouragement, support and sometimes kick in the arse from Kerry Lehmann, my Team Coordinator. Kerry took over my social media activities which freed up my time and allowed me to write my book “Breath Sensations Words”, published earlier this year. I also want to give a shoutout to my editing team for their sound advice and skills in bringing my words to life.
Last and not least, I also have to give a shoutout to all my friends and family who have encouraged, listened and supported me throughout the years to stay the course, as I ebbed and flowed through life’s circumstances.
