We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an artist that designs works of art for the modern lifestyle. I specialize in abstract paintings and sculptural pieces for the art enthusiast.

For the fashion minded, I have designed a collection of handbags and cuff bracelets that express my interest in fashion through the use of my artwork to create one of a kind statement pieces. Currently these art pieces are being sold at the Museum Store in the Phoenix Art Museum and the Tucson Museum of Art.

I am excited about the ceramic pieces I have in the works, along with a series of large scale abstract paintings. The paintings are inspired by the magical night skies. A joyful light emanates from them. My use of color and technique cause a blissful reaction.

What sets me apart from others is the road I’ve traveled and the wisdom I’ve gained along the way. My journey as a fine artist began with a highly successful career as a graphic designer and design studio CEO. As a commercial artist, I was able to travel the world, experiencing the people and their culture first-hand. These enriching experiences have had an impact on my work as a fine artist. While the principles of design I learned early on in my career are still present in my art today.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As an artist we would be heading to the art museum in both Tucson and Phoenix, along with checking out local artisans in the community. We’d get outdoors for a hike at the Catalina State Park in Tucson and hike up Camelback Mountain in Phoenix. We’d enjoy dinner and drinks at Maynards in Tucson and tacos at the Barrio Cafe in Phoenix.

A heartfelt thank you, to those special teachers who said I had a gift. To my family and their constant support in all that I do.
