We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Illg and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liz, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
My brand’s been able to grow, have a deeper impact, and serve more clients through effective delegation. I’ve been able to hire talented team members that share their gifts with my clients and me while allowing me to shine in my strong areas. Creating streamlined processes and supportive training for my team, combined with trusting them to make leading calls in my business, has transformed my brand. I’m proud of the collaboration and innovation my team demonstrates every day. Together, we’ve been able to create a brand fueled by inspiration, teamwork, and creativity.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. Ever since I was a young girl, I would invent things, I was passionate about making my own money, and expressing my creativity. Fast-forward to 26 years old, I started my first brick-and-mortar business, Puff & Fluff Spa, right here in Phoenix. In the early years of owning my storefront, I learned what worked and what didn’t and I learned that success is earned by working with care, leading with kindness, and creating a structured business. After building my business and scaling it to multiple locations in only a few years, I began consulting other entrepreneurs and teaching them how to create success in their companies. One of the biggest lessons I learned while growing my businesses was that delegation is key. Putting together a team of trusted and talented individuals and empowering them to be creative and innovative was a game-changer. When I started sharing my daily duties with my team members, I was able to make high-level decisions and be the visionary my business needed me to be. The story of Li Group is pretty simple; I was an entrepreneur that had lots of ideas but needed a team to help me implement them. When I had the team to help me, I knew my clients could benefit from the teams’ support too and so we became an agency.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my best friend is in town and I want to show them a good time, I always start the day with a breakfast burrito from 32 Shea restaurant. It’s always a big hit and it starts the day off deliciously. One of my favorite things about Phoenix is the beautiful scenery and nature so I would invite my friend on my daily hike around my neighborhood or up the mountains that surround the city. We would enjoy some local shopping in Old Town Scottsdale and treat ourselves to a relaxing spa date. To end the night, we’d have some scrumptious sushi from my favorite local spot, Kodo Sushi Sake.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give a shoutout to my creative team, the Li Group. While some of my team members are based out of Phoenix, like me, I get to work with some incredibly talented individuals across the globe. I’m able to serve more clients because I have such a solid support system in my squad. I’m a delegation advocate! Effective delegation is a huge part of my entrepreneurial story and it’s only possible when I have a team that’s dedicated and inspired.
