Meet Liza Wilson | Crochet Enthusiast, Small Business owner.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Liza Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Liza, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It is a question that is asked of me a lot. I never thought of this as a business. It all started After my oldest son RJ was murdered. Then We had Covid and the lockdowns. The loss was so great, I really did not want to keep on going.
I started to Crochet as my therapy to keep my mind busy and away from the dark thoughts and the pain. Then others would ask me to make them something, when I gave them the animal, the smile on their face, along with the joy it brought them was like keeping a part of my RJ with me.
As I Continued to make the animals, the West valley Art Counsel wanted them in their Gallery. They asked me to join them for a pop-up event and to see what people had to say. I was amazed on all the great feedback, that gave me the courage to continue this path. As I continue to do Pop up events and still get the same comments and people loving what I do and tell Rj’s story makes it all worth it for me.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love to bring creative. Each animal I make seems to show their own personalities. To make others smile and brighten someone’s day is what makes everything worthwhile. What started out as my therapy to continue to get up every day tuned into spreading a little bit of happiness to others is what truly matters. We all need more kindness and have something there when you are having a hard time, sometimes just a soft, cuddly hug to remind you that it will get better.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If we are in Football season, I would have to go the Cardial Stadum to see the Arizona Cardinals play. The Wildlife world Zoo, Sea-life, the Dolly Steamboat tour and the Botanical gardens. Some of my Favorite restaurants would be Biscuits Cafe, Kiku Sushi, Bj’s Restaurant Applebee’s, Scillian butcher, Champies.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without the love and support of my Husband Mark Wilson, My Children, grandchildren I would not be where I am today. there are many people that this journey has led me to that have helped me. as well.
All the customers that come and support me at the events, as well as the West valley art Council that had me in the Gallery, Beyond Web Develpment for the support of my Web site. That is just some of the many supporters that continue to help me with my small business.
