Meet Logan Reavis | Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Logan Reavis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Logan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I started my blog in 2014 I was wanting to get hiking gear for free to post about it on social media. At that time being a content creator was such a grey area. I didn’t know how much to charge and that I should be getting paid for advertising instead of getting free gear. Since then I have learned how to negotiate with brands and ask for what I deserve to be compensated for. My writing about mental health, my journey as a young adult moving to Oregon without ever visiting is the reason why I showed up on social media in the first place. This messaging is what I tune back to-to be vulnerable.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been in sales and marketing since I graduated from college. I fell into the healthcare field shortly after moving to Oregon and have been in that field since then. It was not easy. I worked in banking before then right after college because it was extremely hard to find a job that I made enough to pay my bills with. I currently work in hospice and have learned a lot about the industry. I am hoping one day to connect my creative experience with influencer marketing and social media with sales and marketing to find a remote job that can coincide with my content creator job.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you were to come visit Oregon I would take you to the McKenzie River area for multiple waterfall hikes that you can see in one day. The water is a beautiful color blue! We would grab food and a brew at one of the local breweries in town. If we had time the Oregon Coast- we call it the coast because it is not like a beach you might envision. Steep cliff lines, cold water, and rugged terrain surrounded by green forests.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shotout to Renee Hahnel (@reneeroaming) and Holly Johnson (@missholldoll). I have been following the two of them for years. Renee has inspired me to create my own blog, and keep at posting it.
Holly has encouraged me to learn how to take my own photographs, despite what people might say to me.
