Meet Mackenzie and Chris Schranz and Ray | Media Agency

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mackenzie and Chris Schranz and Ray and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mackenzie and Chris, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When it comes to a creative business or any business for that matter, it requires a thorough thought process and planning to start. In terms of our business we are made up of two creatives who strive to share the vision of our clients. We took our passion for creating content and began defining our brand, conducting market research, establishing an online presence, and putting that all into a business plan. We wanted something that would stand out from the crowd and offer our services to those who have a vision but not the tools to showcase it.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business Unseen Productions is a full-service media agency located in the Chicagoland Area. We provide eye-catching visuals, branding, and comprehensive strategy for all your business needs. We love helping our clients succeed and reach new heights within their platforms. We specialize in photography, videography, and social media management.
Something we believe that sets us apart is our two very different interpretations of creativity. By having two very different views we come together to share the vision of our clients.. Having this factor allows us to constantly deliver high-quality work that meets or exceeds the expectations of clients and our audience.
We are in the beginning phases of our business and we are honestly just super excited for the future and where this journey is going to take us. Were just honestly so proud we took the risk. With our production company taking the risk made us step out of our comfort zone and explore new and unfamiliar ideas, techniques, and styles.
A funny story of how we got to where we are today is actually how we met. We met each other in an abandoned building setting where we were both creating our own version of art through photographs of buildings left to decay. From there our friendship grew and we embarked on our business venture in the creative industry. We wanted to pursue a creative career for various reasons but mainly for self-expression and the love of exploring new ideas and perspectives. With our art we found that we enjoy provoking emotion and leaving an impact on our audience and the audience of our clients. We wanted to have a career in this industry to fuel our need to impact, inspire, inform, and entertain others. Doing all that and the process to get where we are wasn’t easy. There are many difficulties and challenges that you face when owning a business. Besides taking the leap, we would have to say the most difficult would be the balancing of creativity with profitability. As a creative business owner, you become passionate about producing innovative and cutting edge work, but you also need to generate enough revenue to keep the business sustainable and profitable. This has lead us to make tough decisions on what projects to take on and which to turn down, as well as how to allocate resources effectively to maximize efficiency and profitability without compromising the quality of work.
We want the world to know that when you do something, you shouldn’t do it alone and that building something with someone else is worth the effort and work. We want to be known for being a good team and making anything we want happen through dedication and hardwork.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Let’s say our friend was coming into Chicago and hasn’t ever been here before. Our favorite thing to do in Chicago is to watch the sun set. We would probably take them to the planetarium to watch the sunset over the Chicago skyline. Some other places we would take them is the iconic Millennium Park! There are endless museums that we could take them to. Some of the best would be the Field Museum, Museum of Science and Industry and the Aquarium. For food, we would have to go to Lou Malnati‘s and get a deep dish pizza. That is a Chicago must! There are so many unique coffee shops that are a must! For example the Fairgrounds in Oak Park. Food is a necessity to try throughout the city. There are many good breakfast places to go to such as Egg Harbor and Cozy Corner. If they were to come in the summer some good live music would be Lollapalooza or other live music at bars or venues. The possibilities are endless when you come to Chicago.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We dedicate our work ethic and positive attitude in business from Gary Vee, Marcus Lemonis, and many other influential entrepreneurs. But we also give credit to each other because we push each other to be better.
