Meet Mandy Love | Model, Actress, & Film Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mandy Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mandy, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
My pursuit into my creative career path in entertainment is based was based off of my “instinct” to perform and entertain others since I was young. I’ve always liked to express myself creatively and felt a need to perfect my craft in order to pursue entertainment full time. So that meant years of various classes/practice and within that journey I learned that I didn’t want to pursue any other career. I guess you could say it was my destiny…I enjoy the arts so much that it doesn’t feel like work to me. I get paid to have “fun” which is a bonus!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I produce a variety of short films and I do commercial & glamour modeling. I love doing shoots with retro/vintage type of theme. I’m so proud of how far I’ve come considering I grew up in small towns in the South were the big opportunities were limited and now I’m on the cover of Magazines and working on big commercial productions.
My pursuit into my creative career path in entertainment is based was based off of my instinct to perform and entertain others since I was young. When I was around 3 or 4 years old, my father took a photography class and I would pose for his pictures. He would always take great candid shots of me. Even though I was a very hyper child, I never complained about being still in photos because I loved it! Plus my family and I would take professional portraits every year with different photographers and they all mentioned that I should start modeling because of how photogenic I am. With those recommendations I slowly began modeling with the talented professional photographers in my area.
However, I didn’t think much of it at the time because I didn’t know how to get started with modelling. It wasn’t until I was 13 that I properly started my career. A photographer helped me get in touch with the best agencies in my area and help me with my headshots in order to apply and pursue auditions. From there, I was signed and haven’t stopped since!
Now, how I got interested in acting is a whole other story. So, like any other child, I loved watching tv shows and movies. I was so obsessed with different films that I would try to memorize the script of my favorite character and re-enact it for my family and friends. I used to over-analyze and try to figure out how they made special effects and how the stunts worked. Then, I would look up the actors/actresses to read their bio and get insight into what their personal life was like.
On top of this, I would always watch the behind the scenes to see what it looked like when they filmed. I started my Instagram page to socialize with others and to try and gain more exposure because it’s very important to have social media if you’re in the entertainment industry. It makes it more personal when interacting with fans and also helps with branding yourself so people can see what you do on and off screen on a more personal level.
This career path is never easy. I hear more “no’s” than “yes” and that can lead to a lot of self doubt. I’ve learned that this is okay and to be expected in an industry that is highly competitive. One way I’ve learned to overcome this is by never comparing myself to other’s ( the common phrase “comparison is the thief of joy”, has become my mantra at this point) and reminding myself why I’m in the entertainment industry while making a list of goals I would like to achieve. I think it helps to paint the bigger picture to keep me motivated.
I would like the world to know that real talent still exists and should be cultivated and celebrated more often than mediocrity….

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The best spot to hang out for fun is “Mavrix” for the arcade games, bowling and lazer tag. One of my favorite restaurants in the city is “Maple and Ash”. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!
A great rooftop bar with views of the city and tasty drinks would be “From The Rooftop” in Downtown Phoenix.
Fashion Square Mall in Scottsdale is one of my favorite places to shop with a variety of amazing stores.
Another cool hangout spot is in Old Town Scottsdale whether its eating brunch at the restaurants & window shopping or going to the clubs and bars at night, Old Town Scottsdale is a vibe!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to Arizona Art & Talent for providing wonderful networking and photo shoot opportunities for me and other creatives in Arizona. Also a big shout out to Alexandre Alonso with ACA Films for the mentorship and partnership in film production.
