We had the good fortune of connecting with Marc Vetere and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marc, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Building and keeping great relationships with team members and clients.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

We have a full service landscape company specializing in custom residential installations and landscape management. Our landscape supply yard and garden center is our sister company that helps us control our quality plant material and products, It also helps cross pollinate sales.

Our team sets us apart from the rest. We have experts in each field to ensure a great experience product and service. I’m excited about the future growth for the team and creating opportunities for their careers. Continued serving of our community with a higher level of service.

It has been a lot of hard work and many hours put in. Some of the challenges included missing out on time with the family and figuring out the financial part of the growth. Finding the proper work life balance was key in enjoying life while working hard on the business. Taking the time to know your numbers is essential to building a strong business. Find mentors that can help you in your weak areas and always continue to improve your strengths!

When I started Manzanita Landscaping, the goal was to provide a work environment unlike others. Where people have growth opportunities and are more than just a number. I believe we have achieved that and will continue to give opportunities to the team. Whether you buy a plant or have a full installation job done you will get the best experience, product, and service when supporting our companies.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would do some outdoor activities due to our beautiful weather. Some hiking and fishing. Visit some of the great restaurants in the area. Have a few cocktails at the local bars. Drive around to see all the different scenery from Prescott to Phoenix to Flagstaff.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Starts with my family supporting me though all the years. I had a lot of great mentors throughout the years that brought different perspectives and knowledge in many areas of the business. To name a few Joe Sparkman, Walter Kurtz, Suzy & Red Burgin, Buster Brewster with too many more to name. Five years ago, I joined a peer group and it changed everything. Huge shout out to the Grow Group and McFarlin Stanford!
