We had the good fortune of connecting with Mariah Swigart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mariah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my own business because I wanted more than just a career—I wanted a way to build real connections, give back, and create something meaningful.

By launching Swigart Productions, I gave myself the space to lean into my passions—helping brands communicate better, fostering real engagement, and using psychology to create content that actually resonates. More than anything, I wanted to work with people and businesses that align with my values, where marketing isn’t just a strategy but a way to build trust, inspire action, and bring people together.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My career has been anything but traditional, and that’s what makes it exciting. I started as a teacher, moved into psychology, and found my passion in marketing. I’ve always valued investing in your education, which is why pursing a graduate degree was just an expectation I had for myself. I’m so grateful I did because it opened my eyes to understanding my passions and how to turn that into a career.

Running a marketing brand means I wear a lot of hats and need to be flexible, but it is through projects like the hosting the Meaningful Topics Podcast or creating content for the Ms. Swag Golf social media pages that I feel inspired.

What I love most about my work is that it’s not just about selling something—it’s about building real connections. Whether it’s branding, social media, or storytelling, I want businesses to feel more like communities that people actually want to be part of.

Getting here hasn’t been easy. There have been plenty of challenges, learning curves, and moments of doubt. But I’ve learned that growth happens when you lean into change, take risks, and surround yourself with good people.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d start at Bellair Golf Park—hitting balls, playing Toptracer games, and enjoying the fun atmosphere. We’d mix in some adventure with a hike up Camelback, indoor bouldering at Blackrock Bouldering Gym, and maybe a day trip to Sedona for off-roading and epic views. Golf would definitely be on the list, with a round at Lookout Mountain Golf Course too check out the tallest tee box in Phoenix, followed by taking in the views at Different Pointe of View. Brunch at JoyBus Diner would be a must, along with tacos from Love Craft, pizza at Pizzeria Bianco, and a solid steak dinner at Steak 44. And of course, one day would need to be spent by the pool at one of the many amazing resorts and spas in Phoenix.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without a doubt, my biggest shoutout goes to my husband. He’s not just my biggest supporter—he’s right there beside me, learning new skills, brainstorming ideas, and helping me tackle whatever this business throws our way. From late-night edits to big-picture strategy, he’s always willing to jump in and figure it out with me. Having someone who truly believes in the mission statement makes all the difference, and I couldn’t do this without him.
