We had the good fortune of connecting with Martin Bourbeau and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Martin, what do you attribute your success to?
I would have to say the most important factor to our success is the incredible client base that we have been blessed to grow over the past decade. It is utterly impossible to have a thriving artistic career without clients who love your work and collect your pieces year after year; this group of incredible people is something I hope we never take for granted. Their commitment to my work and development as an artist is so appreciated and truly the only reason we have been able to grow and I have been able to create to the degree I have. A client base grows and changes over the years but as individuals each has a very special place in the development of my art and the pieces I have been able to create.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My artistic development began in childhood and matured in high school and college. I participated in a rigorous Liberal Arts education in High School with a strong emphasis on developing my natural artistic abilities. In college, I had an excellent drawing teacher who helped guide me in the more scientific aspects of excellence. However, I did not pursue a degree in Art. I became a Surgical Technologist and started my career in Orthopoedic Surgery. I enjoyed the precision, sureness and accuracy needed to succeed in the Operating Room. In my spare time I continued to create whether it was sculpture or painting. I wanted more out of life and my artistic nature would not be put to the side. So, I set out to create a unique art style, one all my own, and that has developed into what you see in my work today. I create Paint Sculptures on canvas entirely out of paint. Many artists create in multi media works. Mine is only paint. The journey to being a full time artist with a growing family was not one that happened overnight. My wife and i have worked tirelessly over the past decade to build what we have today and I hope this journey is still only beginning… We have learned that determination and optimism are two qualities that are inseparable if you are going to build a successful business, whatever your area of expertise. We have also grown to a family of 8 over the past decade with our 6th baby due in February 2021. I am so proud of the dedication, support and love of my family and am very thankful to be able to pass these lessons along to our children.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When I am in Phoenix we love to check out the great restaurants with outdoor dining. Scottsdale has some amazing sushi.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank all my clients over the past decade. Without them the continued growth and development of my art style would not have been possible.
