We had the good fortune of connecting with Maureen Bissonette and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maureen, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to be able to help animals. I want to release there pain and trauma. I want to get them out of shelters or kill pens. I want to know what its like to be loved

What should our readers know about your business?
I work with horses qnd burros that come from killpens. These animals have been abused and neglected. They are so shut down when they come to us. I give them there time to learn that we are not gonna hurt them. I do massage, and kinesiology taping. I use essential oils and different holistic modalities for them to heal themselves.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to the Oatman Burros Sanctuary and Rehab center in Ft Mohave and show them all the burros. I would get to tell them the burros different stories. They would get to see how far they have come, and how happy they are. Then we could go hang out at the river to cool off because its only 120 degrees down there. Then maybe go have some lunch at one of the mexican restaurants down in ft. Mohave.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Julia Fontaine Shaw and Poppy Phillips. They both have been absolutely amazing in pushing me to get where I need to be able to heal these animals
