We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Loda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always had a heart for helping others. I wanted to make a difference. I saw first hand how important your health was after my back surgery. Fitness changed my life in so many ways. It made me a stronger person not just physically but mentally too. I wanted to help others feel that way.

What should our readers know about your business?
When I turned 21, I was drinking nonstop, feeling sluggish AND experiencing intense back pain…I had a herniated disc erupt, causing me to lose feeling in my left foot. I was rushed into surgery and was told that I had a back like a 65-year-old and that I would always have back problems. I felt broken and lost hope of ever being in shape. One day I decided I would take charge and make changes. I dove straight into my first workout program and it completely changed my life. The more I worked out, the more I fell in love with the process. Not only did fitness help me get physically stronger, but it made me more motivated and overall, happier! After that point, I began studying and learning as much as I could about health and wellness. The more I watched my life change the more I wanted to help other women change their life. I got my NASM certification and attended school at SHOW UP Academy where I learned about nutrition, kinesiology and anatomy. Since then I’ve been able to help thousands of women transform into healthier, more confident versions of themselves. Starting and growing my business has been an incredibly hard rollercoaster but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve been able to overcome obstacles and evolve into a better person. All my experiences have helped me show up as a leader and coach. There is no better feeling in the world than knowing you’ve helped change peoples lives for the better.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Love this question. It is so important as a entrepreneur to take time for yourself and have FUN. We often get caught up in work and forget to ENJOY everyday. Nothing makes me happier than the beach. I love putting my toes in the sand and hair in the water. Sitting back enjoying the. sound of the ocean, the cool breeze and a fresh margarita. Some of my favorite places that I have traveled to are Tulum, Amafi Coast, the Other Banks and San Diego.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My special shoutout goes to Ben Pasquel, founder of TerpNutrition. He has been my biggest fan and number one supporter since the very beginning. Every time I wanted to give up, he was there pushing me to learn, evolve and continue moving forward. I would not be here today without his constant support.
