We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Trinkl and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melissa, what matters most to you?
As I reflect on the values and principles that matter most to me, I find myself drawn to one in particular – kindness. In a world that can often feel harsh and unforgiving, I believe that showing kindness to ourselves and others is one of the most important things we can do. It isn’t always easy – sometimes we have to stretch ourselves outside of our comfort zones, or put aside our own needs and wants to help someone else – but I believe that the rewards of kindness are immeasurable. When we show kindness, we create a ripple effect that can spread far beyond our own individual actions, inspiring others to do the same. And in a time when it can feel like the world is divided and full of conflict, I believe that kindness is one of the most powerful tools we have to create connection and understanding. Ultimately, choosing kindness is a way of choosing to make the world a gentler, more compassionate place.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Years ago, my husband and I started a new commitment of taking one night out of the week just for us, dedicating it as our special date night. Little did we know that this small gesture would turn into something meaningful and eventually inspire others to follow in our footsteps – our weekly date night tradition!
We are proud of our weekly date night tradition and how it sparked the idea for our business. It began with a simple plan, finding someplace new each week, no matter how grand or humble the establishment, with one goal in mind to have fun while discovering hidden gems throughout the Phoenix Valley. Each week we take turns surprising one another. For example, I make plans and tell my husband our agenda moments before our departure. He does the same for me the following week. Years ago, we decided to create a blog to journal our experiences and share those experiences with others.
Buckle up because the blog you’ve been waiting for is finally here! After a long and winding road (thanks, pandemic), our team is ready to deliver years of great content straight to your screen. But don’t think for a second that we haven’t been through some significant changes ourselves. I pivoted my career and said goodbye to a beloved business while navigating the loss of two important people in our lives. But through it all, we’ve come out the other side with a renewed passion for sharing our stories and experiences. Get ready to be inspired, entertained, and uplifted – because this blog is about to become your go-to source for all things awesome!
Starting a business from scratch is like embarking on an epic adventure – challenging, exciting, and full of surprises. But with my digital marketing skills and experience, I was confident that I could launch AZ Date Night with a bang. Of course, there were obstacles along the way – creating unique, jaw-dropping content that people would love was no walk in the park! And once you’ve got that content, there’s the challenge of getting it out there to the masses. But here’s the secret: perfection is overrated. There’s always room for improvement, and that’s what keeps me going. I’m constantly exploring new tactics, studying the market, and refining my methods to create a valuable and fun site because that’s what it’s all about at the end of the day.
As a mom of two little ones, my life is constantly a balancing act. Between my family, my work, and my creative passions, it can take time to find time for everything. But, I’ve figured out a little secret – DATE NIGHT. Yup, by carving out specific time for my hubby and I each week, we stay happy, connected, and refreshed. So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed, remember to make time for the things you love – and a hot date with your favorite person should definitely be on that list! It’s all about managing my schedule and priorities.
We want the world to know that our brand is more than just date nights; it’s about creating stronger relationships and memories that will last a lifetime. At AZ Date Night, we are passionate about bringing people closer together – one date night at a time.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The Phoenix Valley is an exciting and vibrant place with many things to do, eat and explore. There’s so much to enjoy, from world-class museums to awe-inspiring natural beauty to fantastic food and drink. I cannot wait to add more content to the AZ Date Night blog. We’ve enjoyed these experiences and know you will too. Here’s an itinerary of some of the best Phoenix Valley experiences I know and love.
Day 1: Start your day by visiting the iconic Camelback Mountain. Hiking the mountain’s trails is a popular outdoor activity that offers some of the most breathtaking views of the valley. After working up an appetite on the hike, head to The Vig for a delicious lunch.
Day 2: Start your day by taking a hot air balloon ride over the Sonoran desert. Soaring above the cactus forests, mountains, and wildlife is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And once you’ve worked up an appetite, head over to Isabella’s Kitchen in Scottsdale. This cool country roadhouse serves up some seriously tasty handcrafted dishes, all while offering stunning views of the McDowell Mountains and Grayhawk’s Talon Course. Make sure to grab a seat on the patio for the ultimate lunchtime experience. And if you’re lucky enough to be there at sunset, prepare for a postcard-worthy view.
Day 3: My husband and I own a Jeep, and we often take it out to explore the many ORV (off-road recreational vehicle) trails throughout Arizona. Suppose you do not have an ORV, venture into the desert for a Jeep tour with Pink Jeep Tours. You will experience the magic of the Sonoran desert up close with an experienced guide.
Day 5: Visit Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter home and studio. Taliesin West is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a marvel of architectural design that showcases Wright’s brilliant creativity. You will find unique shops and galleries to browse through and a variety of restaurants and bars to enjoy. After the tour, head to Old Town Scottsdale for some shopping and dining.
Day 6: Start your day by visiting the Desert Botanical Garden, known for its exquisite collection of desert plants from around the world. You can take a guided tour of the gardens and learn about the unique plant life native to the Sonoran desert. Head to The Henry, an upscale eatery serving modern American cuisine for lunch. Enjoy their seasonal plates, signature cocktails, and indulging desserts.
You will have an incredible time in the Phoenix Valley when using this itineray as a guide. You will have explored the outdoors, tasted some of the valley’s best cuisine, and indulged in some of its finest cultural treasures. The Phoenix Valley has so much to offer – from world-renowned museums to breathtaking desert landscapes. Check out AZDateNight.come for more ideas.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
