Meet Melissa Yetter | Travel Advisor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Yetter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melissa, what is the most important factor behind your success?
As a travel advisor, one of the important factors is relationships. From the beginning, this business was not transactional, but genuine relationships built on trust, The connections I have built have become the cornerstone of everything I have achieved.
Whether it’s nurturing trust with clients, building strong partnerships with global suppliers, or staying connected with local communities, relationships have shaped the way I work. My business has grown organically through recommendations and repeat bookings. Every booking is treated with the same level of care and attention. That consistency builds trust—and trust builds a brand.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The business has been a labor of love. After years of booking trips, we started our own travel agency on January 1, 2020 and then we watched the world close down. Small business owners were closing their doors, no one was traveling and life was changing before our eyes. My husband and I decided that we would keep our doors open and start Saturday Travel Days. Each Saturday, we would explore a new Arizona destination, sharing our adventures online, and inspiring others to rediscover the beauty in their own backyard. We packed a picnic lunch, hiked and enjoyed the outdoors. We would engage via social media and we slowly grew our audience. Little by little, our community grew, drawn to our message of curiosity, resilience, and gratitude.
Our brand and our story are built on faith, patience and the joy of discovery—proof that even when the world stands still, the spirit of adventure can carry you forward.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There is no better stretch of Arizona to explore than the route from Sedona to Bearizona, Flagstaff, and the Grand Canyon. Start in Sedona, hike Cathedral Rock or take a jeep tour through Broken Arrow Trail, then unwind with dinner and a glass of Arizona wine at The Hudson or Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill, both offering jaw-dropping sunset views.
Head north on the winding Oak Creek Canyon drive to Flagstaff, 89A. In Flagstaff, spend a couple of nights enjoying the cool mountain air, local craft breweries like Mother Road Brewing Co., and the historic charm of Downtown Flagstaff along Route 66.
Head towards Williams and visit Bearizona where you can drive through habitats filled with bears, wolves, and bison. Stay the night in Williams and catch the train to the Grand Canyon. A beautiful lunch at El Tovar and then hike part of the Bright Angel Trail,
On the way back to the Valley, we would stop at Rocksprings for pie!
Every stop offers its own brand of Arizona magic—and memories that last far beyond the drive home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband and family have been my unwavering support system throughout my journey as a travel advisor. This career often means late nights planning trips, early mornings checking flights, and even prioritizing clients during holidays or family moments. Through it all, they have shown nothing but patience, encouragement, and understanding. Their love and flexibility have allowed me to pour my heart into helping others explore the world, knowing that my own home base is filled with unconditional support. I could not do what I do without them, and this recognition is as much theirs as it is mine.
