We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Lambard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I ever had to make was quitting my full time job to do my Art. I knew it was time to make a move but having my family and being able to provide was my number 1 worry. With the help and urging of my Wife I was able to make the leap and could not have asked for a better outcome so far. It’s been a couple years and a lot of work but nothing I would change in that aspect.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart from others is my versatility. I am able to really transcend different subject matter and bring my client’s vision to life. I get a lot of different requests across many spectrums and I feel I adapt and excel whether it’s a type of piece I’ve done hundreds of times or my first opportunity. I got to where I’m at today by taking risks and time. It wasn’t always the easiest path but being able to continue to work and gain reps thru out these years has helped transform me to where I’m at right now. I’m hoping my brand and type of art brings joy to people.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I think Arizona has a lot to offer as far as food , bars and different types of places to relax. I would start by going to some of the locals bars to get some food and drinks. We also have great hiking and outdoor trails that I do daily so we would probably do that a couple times a week early in the morning. Phoenix is a constant hang out spot with so many bars and different amazing restaurants it would probably be a week of drinks and great eats.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In my life one of the most influential people I’ve ever met is a long time client and friend of mine Son Nguyen. He has always been someone to push me to pursue this and has always supported me wholeheartedly. He has accomplished so much in his career and his knowledge and support has been priceless for me. He’s someone I continue to lean on and know he’ll give his unbiased opinion on any decision I make.
