Meet Michael Moody | Founder & Owner, Madley Fine Cabinetry

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Moody and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am originally from Denver, Colorado, and moved to Scottsdale in 2002. Growing up in Denver instilled in me an appreciation for nature, craftsmanship, and the value of creating things that last. Surrounded by the mountains and a culture that respects hard work and authenticity, I developed an eye for detail and a deep respect for materials, qualities that continue to guide me today.
When I relocated to Scottsdale, I found a community that celebrates innovation, architecture, and design in a very forward-looking way. The city’s energy challenged me to take the foundation of traditional craftsmanship I carried from Colorado and merge it with a modern, design-driven perspective. That blending of influences has become central to my work.
At Madley Fine Cabinetry, our goal is to create pieces that are both timeless and tailored to the lives of our clients. My background taught me to value beauty, balance, and quality, and living in Scottsdale has inspired me to push the boundaries of what cabinetry can be. The result is a business that honors heritage while embracing modern living, and that combination reflects exactly who I am today.
Looking ahead, my vision is to position Madley Fine Cabinetry as a leader in luxury design, known not only in Scottsdale but across the country, for redefining what is possible in custom cabinetry and elevating everyday living through thoughtful design.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is cabinetry, but for me it goes far beyond simply building storage or furniture. I see cabinetry as the architecture within a home that frames the way people live every day. What sets me apart is my focus on creating spaces that are both functional and deeply beautiful; spaces where every detail, from the grain of the wood to the way a drawer glides, has been carefully considered.
I am most proud of the fact that Madley Fine Cabinetry grew out of passion rather than a plan. It started with a project for my wife, and that act of love sparked something bigger than I could have imagined. What excites me now is watching our cabinetry transform homes in ways that elevate daily living and make design feel personal, timeless, and meaningful.
The path to where I am today was not easy. Building a business from the ground up required sacrifice, long hours, and a commitment to learning at every turn. There were times when resources were tight, when projects did not go as planned, or when the demands of growth felt overwhelming. What carried me through was persistence and the belief that quality and integrity always win in the long run. I have learned to embrace challenges as opportunities to refine not only my craft but also myself as a business owner.
The lesson I carry with me is that design is never just about the finished product. It is about the process, the relationships, and the care put into every step. I want the world to know that Madley Fine Cabinetry is about more than cabinets. It is about creating a lifestyle of elegance, warmth, and precision. My story is one of passion turned profession, and every project we deliver carries that same sense of purpose.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d want them to see the Scottsdale I love most. We’d start with Old Town for art, galleries, and dinner at The Mission. One morning we’d hike Camelback, then relax at the Sanctuary resort pool. I’d plan a day trip to Sedona for the red rocks, and another afternoon at Taliesin West to soak in the architecture and design.
For food, Café Monarch would be the splurge, with spots like FnB and Beginner’s Luck for great local flavor. We’d also wander the Desert Botanical Garden, shop Scottsdale Quarter, and catch a desert sunset with a cocktail in hand. To me, that’s the perfect mix of design, nature, and relaxation that makes this area so special.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Madley Fine Cabinetry was founded in 2017, but my journey started well before that. I have always been a woodworker at heart, and my passion for design really came to life through a simple act of love: a custom office remodel I built for my wife. What began as a personal project – an office created to reflect her style and support her daily needs – quickly drew the attention of friends and visitors. Soon, inquiries started coming in, and what began as a “honey-do” project naturally grew into something much larger.
That one project was the spark that turned my lifelong passion into a business. Today, Madley Fine Cabinetry is known for refined aesthetics, precision craftsmanship, and a concierge-level service that makes the process as enjoyable as the finished product. It all started with love, and that foundation continues to guide everything I create.
