We had the good fortune of connecting with Michalina Scorzelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michalina, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor in the progress I have made in the entertainment industry is to not place limitations on how I view where I fit. The world does enough of that for us. What do I mean? I am a women over 40.. I am not a stick figure.. I do not live in L.A, Atlanta or NY.C..There are many who would say hang it up! I ignore the noise and see myself as comfortable in my skin, armed with life experience and confident. I let my love for the craft and process of creating be my loudest voice.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I don’t remember a time that I did not want to be an actor. My childhood was not one that I had any support, so it was just a dream. In high school I did Musical Theatre and Plays. Out of school I had the pleasure to do local theater including getting to be on Stage of the beautiful Proctors Theatre in Schenectady, NY It was built in 1926 and started off as a vaudeville Theater. Today Broadway shows come through. The thrill of being onstage at this theater fueled my love and determination to make this my life.

Fast forward life happened I got married and had my children. I took a pause but my passion and desire never dimmed. It was when I was having a heart to heart with my son going into High School about finding his passion no matter what it is! He turned to me and said why was I not doing what I loved? That was huge! I felt like such a hypocrite! The following week I signed up for acting classes in NYC. I wanted my kids to know anything is possible! I heard from everyone I was too old to start! I didn’t care I just worked on studying and being the best version of myself I could be. My first jobs were Sex and The City, The Sopranos, Law and Order and then came my first feature film. My first Feature film I was in, I also Produced Won Best debut Feature at the prestigious Raindance Film Festival.

I have now gone on to being an award-winning actor, producer and director with career both in front of and behind the camera. My projects have been nominated and have won a myriad of awards at many film festivals and has been Seen in Theaters and most streaming platforms. I produced and stars in the film Girl in the Palms, and recently secured the distribution deal for the family feature The Adventures of Snow White and Rose Red, that she also produced and served as one of various directors.

The project I am most excited about and Proud of right now is an upcoming series titled THE FORTUNATO’S WITCH MAFIA it is so fun! Think of “Goodfellas” meets “Charmed” meets “Stranger Things” ! play the role of Maria Fortunato. My favorite role todate.! I am aslo one of the Producer.s. It is Co-Written and Directed by Dayva Weiss and Nicole Coady.. Our core team also includes Ann Marie Lizzy. This female Written, Directed and Produced Pilot is now in Post.

I am also a proud member of SAG/AFTRA, Owner of Independent Artists Collaborative, and is a member of NY Women in Film and Television and its sister organization Upstate Women in Film and Television.

I hope readers are left with NO LIMITS!!!! You control your destiny. Do not let anyone dictate your possibilities. You have to work hard, study and be better! Be so good you create a place for you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I hate to be cliche but I think everyone should visit the Grand Canyon. As beautiful as photos are they do not capture the magic. Arizona is so beautiful and rich in history and good food!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My children and husband are my why. My children are now grown. It was very important for me to instill certain things in life for them to live by.. One, anything is possible! The only limits you have are the ones you put on yourself. Two, hard work always pays off! Three, live like you mean it! Be present and LIVE! I believe example was, is stronger then words so that is how I lived and live my life! My husband is a Race Car driver and I am his crew chief. I work on the car, change tires, turn wrenches the entire scene. He inspires me daily. We are a small self funded Team and older then most of our competitors. He works so hard and he never gives up! NEVER! I am truly blessed with so much love and inspiration around me. The balance and support my family, friends and talented colleagues give me are the reason I am now living my dream. My heart is filled with so much gratitude.
